For those of you who change the decor in your house seasonally, what do you use when you take down your December holiday decorations?

Snowmen go up through February. I put up 6 large Christmas trees. I have a flocked one in the formal dining room that changes over to a winter theme. The rest are taken down. . Bunnies and flowers come out in March. Summer decor from May to mid September. Fall, then Christmas.

Snowmen come out after Christmas. I have a few things for Easter, and those come out for a few weeks. Once those get put away, I don’t decorate again until fall/Halloween.

My two big decorating times are Halloween and Christmas. I have a few singular items i might bring out if I am feeling it for the other holiday times.. vintage kewpie girl heart vase for Valentines.... Leprechaun nutcracker for St. Paddy's.... my antique Easter cookie jar.

I leave it pretty neutral for the few weeks after New Year's - gives me a chance to visually reset and deep clean. Then I do smaller holiday decorations in very specific areas of our home - the coffee bar, pillows on our entry bench and living room couch, front door decor, and smaller things like hand soap and candles in bathrooms and kitchen for each holiday(Valentine's Day will go up this week). I plan on changing out our open shelving display (open concept floor plan for kitchen/dining/living room) seasonally - we just took down our son's(20) Lego Christmas village and it will stay with our regular decor until we get closer to spring.

I guess I'm just looking for ideas to update seasonally. I've got September through December but am pretty slim the rest of the year

The casino and hospital turn Christmas trees into Valentine's Day ....we rotate grape vine wreaths on windmill stand with the next 4 months

I use Pinterest and ChatGPT to help me with interior design ideas and updates. I have a neutral palette overall with a lot of natural wood. So I type in prompts like “neutrals with pops of blue” “green”.

God-willing later this year when I am home, my Dad and I will decorate our apartment some again. We typically use seasonal tablecloths and placemats. Also hanging above our small kitchen table are a couple of wall decorations such as Happy Spring.

By the Saturday before the first Sunday in Advent, we have set up our larger table-top Nativity. We are still looking for a one piece Creche. We do have a Happy Valentine's Day heart and put up an Easter Cross in some form. It's also fun to use seasonal paper plates. Small things that can add fun, comfort, and help make memories

The same day our Christmas decorations were put away, our Valentines box came down from the attic and we put all that out. Next will be St Patrick’s Day, then Easter/Spring, then patriotic 4th of July/summer, then fall, winter holidays, etc.

I did pick up a big cutout sign I saw with flowers that says SPRING and I put it up on my mantel as a daily reminder that it will be here soon! I love my seasonal decorations.

DH's Christmas village houses come off the mantel when we pack up all of the Christmas. This year I'm trying a pine garland with round string lights and a couple of lanterns flanking the large clock that is always on the mantel. It's simple, but not barren.

Thanks everyone for the inspiration! We remodel 50% of our house last year it it wrapped up just in time to decorate.

This weekend I packed away all the holiday decoration and it looks extra empty as I have 2 pictures hanging in 4 rooms and the dining room doesn’t have enough furniture with out 3 trees (big one in the bay window and 2 flanking the fireplace).

My mom gave me a home goods gift card so I plan to go there next weekend in hopes of finding something.

After Christmas (around the week of Jan. 6), the Valentine's decor comes out, with a few touches of winter. I love decorating with the themes of different holidays, so I probably have more Valentine's decorations than what would be considered normal. I let it linger through most of Feb. and then don't bother decorating for St. Patrick's aside from maybe a wreath because I don't like how it's so smooshed in between Valentine's and Easter, especially since the date of Easter varies from year to year. I have a lot of spring/Easter decor including two Easter villages that I like to enjoy for as long as I can.

After that everything stays neutral until about the middle of June when I put up 4th of July. Then from about mid-July to the beginning/mid September is nothing until I bring out the Halloween/fall. Nov. 1st is Thanksgiving/more fall until Thanksgiving weekend when the Christmas stuff goes up.

When I get around to taking the tree and Christmas village down then I decorate for Valentine's day using some of my Christmas decorations that are just red or red and white. The snowmen stay up through sometime in March. Decor changes March 1st for St. Patrick's day. April I change over to spring/Easter decor. End of may/beginning of June I switch out to summer decor and that stays up until I change it out in fall.

***I confine seasonal decor to our downstairs only. I leave upstairs pretty much alone except for sheets/breadspread on our bed. Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day decor is fairly minimal (one bin each). The big changes are the seasonal ones: Fall, Winter (including Christmas), Spring, and Summer.

Inside? Christmas decorations, mostly in the Living room, from 2 weeks before Christmas until 2 weeks after (the epiphany). One of the end tables gets moved into a bedroom and a recliner moved to make room for the Christmas tree. Otherwise our interior decorations are the same the other 11 months of the year.
