house question, hardwiring?

we bought a built in Microwave last weekend and we were all excited to install it. We had a friend coming over to help us with it.
Well we went to remove the exsisting hood and it is hardwired into the house! Is this normal?
I thought they were just plugged into the wall so Im not sure were going to be able to install this new built in.

Help?

nope vent hoods are permenatly wired,, heres a tip, turn off the curcuit, then put a recepticle abd box in the cabinet above microwave to plug it into.
