Too be perfectly honest, I'm not a big fan of blues music, BUT - feel an evening meal there could be great purely because of the atmosphere.

What do you reckon? should my wife and I try it out? or forget it?

The Rainforest Cafe and Hard Rock are both a must, including the 50's Diner.

House of blues has great food, I say definately try it.

Hard Rock is over at Universal's City Walk, just so you know.

You may not have to listen to Blues music, depending on when you would be dining.

The food is excellent, and that alone would be worth a visit. The atmosphere just adds to the meal 'experience'.

We aren't huge Blues fans either (jazz yes, Blues no), but we eat there almost every trip. I would have to say go for it.

We are eating there on Aug 8th!! I'm excited to try it. We have never eaten there before.

I love HOB. It is one of my favorite restaurants. We have eaten at the one in Downtown disney in CA and in Las Vegas and in New Orleans. All are unique as far as attitude and atmosphere. The staff has been very nice ever time we go. And it is so great. The food is over the top. They have great burgers and gumbo and jambalaya.

I have not tried HOB in Orlando, But I have been to the one in New Orleans. I loved it and depending on what bad is playing there they may not have blues. They sometimes get Big name people inside the bar area which usually has a cover to get into it's seperate from the dining room, and the one in New Orleans was 21 and over. As far as Hardrock I have not heard of one in downtown Disney, but did see on universals site they have one on citywalk, I have been to 4 of those places and it's basically the same mediocre food, You're pretty much paying for the theme it's basically planet hollywood for rock stars. Planet hollywood well heh that place serves sub-par food in my standards and no matter which one I went to 3 in different states it was the same food and standards.

I thought HOB was in downtown disney. A previous poster said its in universals citywalk. Can anyone confirm , where house of blues is. TIA

House of Blues is in downtown disney from what I read if I am remembering correctly it is located more inside of pleasure island. I could be wrong, but it is in downtown disney. Now Hard Rock cafe is in universal citywalk at universal orlando. That's what the universal website says. That would be a seperate trip and park for Hard rock. Personally Hard rock, and Planet hollywood are one in the same mediocre food, just different themes one is movies, the other rock music gear. House of Blue is great. Good southern food and I am from the south and have ate at the one in New Orleans and would never hesitate going back. For a celeb ran joint House of Blue is really a very well ran place with good food.

House of Blues is at Downtown Disney, in the area known as "West Side".

Hard Rock Cafe is at Citywalk near Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

Planet Hollywood is at Downtown Disney very close to Pleasure Island.

We've never been to HOB for a meal, but will definately be eating there on our trip this October. :thumbsup2

We've eaten at PH and HRC - we won't be going back to PH :sad2:, but will definately be returning to HRC as we had good food and good service there! :goodvibes

I hate to be the odd man out, but my Family says thumbs down! We ate there one time, we live 10 minutes away. The atmosphere was good, the service was good, the food no good!

House of Blues is at Downtown Disney, West Side. Try the shrimp Po Boy.

Enjoy.

I just like the entertainment aspect, even if I dont listen to that particular music. It's enjoyable while I eat. Speaking of which, the spare ribs and mashed potatoes are to die for!

I say go for it! We've been to the one in Orlando, and we really enjoyed our meal. I think they had some sort of rosemary cornbread that I thought was very good!

Another thumbs up for HOB. I don't really like blues music either, but the food and service are always very good.

they have concerts at hob, but they happen late. House of Blues isn"t inundated with blues. It has more of a hip cajun folk art feel to it. We just had sandwiches and burgers...they were great...there is a chicken sandwich called the elwood that is great....and the margaritas are excellent.
check it out,

I think we shall have a look at the HOB and then decide, but at the moment it's 60-40 in favour of possibly going in there for a meal.

We include a late dinner at HOB during every trip to WDW. I. personally, find the food superior to Hard Rock, Rainforest & the adjacent Wolfgang Puck. The music is actually more rock and roll than blues: Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones. Some of the dishes are somewhat on the spicy side but I have had some great steak, shrimp as well as simpler fare such as burgers, corn bread & artichoke dip. The cocktails are potent and the dessert heavenly!
