House of Blues Reviews?

We are arriving midday on our first day and have decided to either do DTD or Epcot WS after settling in. Want to make ressies either for House of Blues or Le Cellier? I've read all your comments about Le Cellier, but can't find anything on HOB. My DH has seen both menus and likes what he sees @ HOB.

Also, I've checked the HOB website for entertainment for when we are there but nothing is scheduled yet. Is there always someone playing? Where else can I find out HOB Entertainment schedule?

really liked house of blues. It was our last night and served us well. We just had burgers and sandwiches, but it is very fun, and upbeat...cajuny funky folk art decor, great drinks if that is your thing, and a fun environment.
Their concerts are later, and have an extra cover attached to them...They are sometimes very big name people.

We loved HOB. We've enjoyed dining at both - but if given the choice would pick HOB over Le'Cellier. The atmosphere is quirky and fun. The food and service were great. There was a band in the main dining room (where there was no cover). I think the menu was a welcomed change for us. Be warned...the portions were huge at HOB! We felt bad leaving food behind, but knew there was no way to keep it back at our room.

The food at HoB is very good...the corn bread is the best I've ever had.
You won't see any shows at the restaurant, the concerts are held next door and are extra.

We always get the same thing, Shrimp Po Boy for DH, I get the soup with sausage, beans and rice, caesar salad and we share the rosemary cornbread.

I have been to both the HoB in Vegas (sister had "wedding reception" there) and in Orlando - and both were excellent. DF and I are disneymooning in Jan '08, and HoB is definately on the must-eat-here list!
As a previous poster said, the concerts/entertainment is separate from the dining area. There is also an awesome gift shop. And don't forget about the Sunday morning breakfast buffet!

I have always been happy with the food and service at HoB.
If I were choosing between HoB and Le Cellier, Le Cellier would win. But HoB is no slouch.

Thanks for all the reveiws - we were also planning on eating at HOB for our trip in May. We all thought the menu looked good but hadn't heard much buzz about it on the boards - glad to know that so many people seem to like it, can't wait to try it out for ourselves!

I loved loved loved the Elwood sandwich. I think it was the best chicken sandwich I've had in my entire life. You'll love it!!!!!

They sometimes have bands in the restaurant section as well as the concert section. The flat iron steak salad is soooooo good! They have a AAA discount as well-20% off I think. Have fun!

We LOVE HOB. We almost always eat here on the last day of our trip. (We also eat at one whenever we're close, the one in Myrtle Beach is the BEST!). The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. My only complaint is that they don't have a large menu selection.

We loved HOB. We had the Voo Doo shrimp appetizer and it was wonderful. My hunsband had the filet stuffed with basil, tomato, and goat cheese. I just had chicken fingers. Even my dautghters mac and cheese was good. It was expensive, but what isn't at the world. I would highly recommend it.

voodoo shrimp= awesome There is usually a group playing in the dining roomat night (free) The big entertainment is next door. We heard a great blues band when we were eating there. Nancy

I guess our family was the only one to get a bad meal there. DH had the cajun meatloaf that he said was not spectacular in any way and the portion was very small with a small amount of mashed potatoes. I don't remember what DS had but I had the shrimp etoufee. When they brought it out it had no rice in it. I kept stirring and stirring and no rice. Now I have made etoufee many times and you have it over rice always. After I finally tracked down a waitress she asked if I was sure if didn't have rice in it. I showed it to her. She did bring out a bowl of rice but it was not good at all. I am used to good cajun cooking and do some myself so maybe I am a little picky.
