My DH is taking my DD to see a concert at the House of Blues on March 4th.

He has already bought tickets but we are wondering if anyone here has any tips on how early to be there before hand. We know it's general seating (or more like standing) so I guess that means first come first serve big time! :duck:

Is there a benefit to eating there beforehand - if so they would love to do that and reservations seem wide open for dinner - how early should they eat to be in line for a 7:00 door open and an 8:00 concert?

It's a Canadian band - Walk off the Earth, not sure how big of a draw they will be in Anaheim but they have had a few hits.

Anyway, I figured this is the best place to come with questions - so thanks in advance for any advice!! :wave2:

I've never seen a concert there but if they want to eat first and doors are at 7 I'd be there to eat at 5. I have no idea if there is a benefit of any kind but you could call them and ask.

I have seen plenty of concerts there. Pay the extra for VIP and sit up in the balcony. This is the WORST HoB I have ever been to (and I've been to almost all of them). The floor is the worst free standing room ever. I have actually even left a show in the middle of it and it was my favorite band ever, but I couldn't see a thing because unless you have front row, there's no point in standing on the floor.

If you eat in the restaurant or buy something in the store (if it's the same as all the other places, has to be at least $20 a person for either food or store - not hard to do) then you get a thing called "pass the line" which will require you to wait in line there before the doors...Well, it doesn't require it. But if you want front row then you'll want to wait in that line. The "pass the line" line gets in before the normal line.

How is the view and seats in the VIP area? I read that it's up on the balcony and you can lose your seat fairly easily. We are going to see Stone Sour on the 6th and have been debating on getting the VIP seats or not.

thanks!!

I love the seats up top cause it's only two rows on each side. They only sell as many seats as can fit up there. If there's more than one of you, always keep one person to save the spots. I love sitting up top. So much better of a view

This is what it looks like. Very spacious compared to the packed small area of the floor

My DH decided to go ahead and do the VIP package as it includes a meet and greet - so my DD is pretty excited about that!!

Thanks for all the advice.
