I just booked two rooms last night on Hotwire and got Port Orleans Riverside. It's only for one night before we head over to WL. I don't need magic bands or transportation and plan to leave POR by 8am to head over to WL club level. Can we just show up at POR and check into the two rooms? We won't arrive at the hotel until after 7pm. The two rooms are now under my husband's name. I didn't know if I had to call Hotwire and have them call Disney and link them to my MDE. We just plan to crash for the night.

You should have gotten an Disney reservation number from Hotwire and then you link it yourself within MDE.

The two numbers on the email from Hotwire don’t work when I tried to link them.

Try contacting hotwire. They should have the Disney reservation number. Either way there's no reason to tell Hotwire to contact Disney. Try contacting Disney directly that might work.

You can sometimes get faster responses from these places by tweeting your question/issue to them. Last fall we booked at POFQ through an Orbitz deal and the confirmation # they send is not the same number DME is looking for to link the reservation. I tweeted their account and they private messaged me fairly promptly and got me the right number after explaining what I needed.

well after 40 minutes of holding with Hotwire, they were able to get me the two confirmation numbers, but my husband is the only traveler and he is apparently staying in two hotel rooms. :rotfl::rotfl: So now I have to get the rest of us added. Awesome....

Firefly_ris,

I've done this plenty of times with Cheaptickets and Orbitz and never had an issue. Idk what the problem with Hotwire is.

So I called Disney and they can't help me because Hotwire holds the reservation which I figured would be the situation. I really don't want to call Hotwire again. I just want to show up at the hotel and sleep there. Normally at any other hotel you don't have to list who is going to stay in the room. If only it could be that easy.

There is no need to link your Hotwire reservation to your MDE unless you want to use some benefit provided by have your reservation linked. If you just want 2 rooms to sleep that one night and don't need FP+ or DME or something else Disney specific.

I would suggest that you still follow-up with Hotwire to get the at least the adult names correct for the rooms to save any additional delays on the night when you arrive at POR.

Note: As you found out earlier, Disney can't touch your reservation as it is owned by Hotwire aka Expedia (or any Third party Agency). A quick way to get your actual Disney World reservation number is by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463. Provide your husband's name and the check-in date and check for an ADR. The CM can lookup your reservation and provide you with the Disney reservation number that should begin with 48xxxx.

That’s a good tip to get the ressie number!

I ended up calling Hotwire again to at least have my name on a room and my husbands on the other. Waiting to see if that gets done because the Hotwire guy said he had to fax it to Disney. Oh my

Any tips on getting a Disney resort from Hotwire? I’m not familiar with using them for a reservation. I do know they don’t show the hotel until after you reserve it, but what do you look for to be certain you are on WDW property in an on-site resort?

Hotwire offers deals two ways:

1. Discounted listings where hotel is listed
2. HotRate deals where the name of the hotel hidden until you make the purchase.

HotRate deals are a little harder to verify since the hotels and Hotwire try to hide the key details to obscure the actual hotel. There are some key things to try to match to improve your odds of a Disney match: free airport shuttle and parking fess (fee is $13 per night at Value resorts, $19 at Moderate resorts and $24 at Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts).

The HotRate will always match one of the hotels in the results list on Hotwire, you just need to look over the details and narrow down the list, make sure you scroll all the way down the results list. Please use caution because you might get stuck with a non Disney resort as your HotRate deal.

Here's a current example

well after 4 days of trying to get the right family members linked to the right rooms, it's finally done.

I called Disney's wholesale dept for the third time, (I called Hotwire three times and they said they sent faxes to Disney) and finally got someone to fix the booking myself. So glad they were willing to talk to me instead of saying that they could only talk to Hotwire. Phew!

Hi,

So I also just purchased Disney World tickets through Hotwire (added them as activities to my flight+hotel bundle). They emailed me the vouchers that have supplier reference # and voucher #, but these two numbers don't match Disney ticket order numbers so I can't link them to my Disney account to get the fast pass.

I called Hotwire and they said they will email the numbers automatically in 1-3 days? I called Disney and they said they can't help because Hotwire purchased wholesale tickets that they cannot access? This is confusing... Since we can bring the vouchers in person to Disney ticket counters and get the numbers there, shouldn't they be able to access it already in their system somehow?

Anyone has experience with this before? This is my first time buying Disney tickets from sites other than Disney website. Or does anyone have a Disney wholesale number that I can call for this? Tried to look for them online, but can't find...

No. I think you just need to be patient and wait a day or two.
There is no Disney wholesale number, Disney will not deal with you as you did not purchase through them and Hotwire said it will take 1-3 days. I beleve that is your answer.

What did the ad say on hotwire when you got this resort? I have been wanting to try POR (either of them) and am wondering what the star rating is for a mod. And...the ones I am seeing showing airport shuttle dont mention parking fees so Im wondering if they are indeed Disney resorts.

It was a year ago, but here is what I wrote back then

Awesome! You're staying at the Disney's Port Orleans Riverside

Here were the amenities

Resort, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Airport shuttle, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Children's activities

Hotwire also gave the choice of two queens and a murphy bed and also said the last person got Port Orleans Riverside so I was pretty confident I would get it. Thanks Disboards for the info!!!
