Hi
I am looking for a hotel for the first night of our WDW vacation. We will be arriving around 7 pm or so. I am looking for a good deal but I want something nice and clean and close to WDW. Our Disney resort will be Coronado Springs.

I am looking at Hotwire...they show a 3 1/2 * DTD hotel for a total price of $62 and a 3 1/2 * Main Gate hotel for a total of $69. Does anyone have any idea as to what hotels these might be and which area is the best to choose.

Do you ever get a hotel with a free continental b'fast? That would be extra great! ;)

I would love to hear any tips or ideas you all may have.

Also, would you use Hotwire over Pricline? :confused3

Thanks in advance for all your help!:goodvibes

I use Priceline if there's only 2 of us but Hotwire if I absolutely need 2 beds. I know alot of people say that they ask for 2 beds at check in and usually get it, but I don't feel comfortable taking that chance. I used betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com and have accurately predicted my hotel. Works great!

Betterbidding web site can help indentifying the hotels by listing the amenity icons that match hotels which have been won in the past. Some hotels are easier to match than others; and, even if there is an exact match, there is not a 100% guarantee that the match will be the hotel. At times a hotel will change the amenity icons, Hotwire could change the star rating of the hotel or the hotel could be a previously unreported hotel.

Both the DTD-Lake Buena Vista and Main Gate-Celebration area are close to Disney. Its a matter of opinion, but most would probably prefer to be in the DTD-Lake Buena Vista area.

Hotwire amenity icons will most times show if there is a complimentary cont. breakfast included. (The icon is a cup of coffee.) It is not very likely with a 3-1/2* hotel. You have a better chance with a lower star rating. Also, many of the 3-1/2* or above hotels will charge a resort and/or parking fee that is not reflected in the price. Some Hotwire listings will indicate if there is a resort fee - look at the very bottom right hand side of Hotwire's listing of that hotel. There is no way to tell on Priceline whether there is a resort or parking fee. Benefits of Hotwire - possibly being able to identify the hotel and the amenities the hotel has and approximate amount of resort fee; can reserve room for exact number of guests in your party. Priceline benefits - Can normally get a better price than Hotwire; Priceline has a more strigent rating system than Hotwire so that if a hotel's star rating is in a gray area, Hotwire will probably have the hotel rated a 1/2* star higher than Priceline. Biggest risk with Priceline is that your purchase only guarantees bedding for two. This is less of a risk in the Orlando area because of the family nature of most hotels - but it is still a risk. Betterbidding.com also has a list of Priceline hotels that have been won, which can give you some indication of the possible hotel you will win at a certain hotel star rating in a particular zone. That site can also give you bidding strategies so that you can make multiple bids at the same time by adding other zones that do not have hotels at star ratings of the star level you are attempting to purchase. Otherwise you can make only 1 bid every 24 hours.
