I am interested in booking a room at the Hyatt at MCO for the night before our cruise using Hotwire. However, according to the Hotwire website, all rooms are double occupancy. There are four people in my family. The website suggested that you call the hotel after you make the reservation to request a room that sleeps four. Has anyone ever done this? Does the hotel charge extra for a room for four people? Please advise. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure how the rate structure works, but there are definitely rooms at the Hyatt which will hold four people. I think most, if not all, of the times I've stayed there, our room had two double beds in it. Maybe once we had a room which had a single king, but I could be confusing that with another hotel. I am positive that I've stayed in rooms for four at that hotel.

Most of the published rates are double-occupancy, but that shouldn't preclude you from booking a room for a party of four. Check out the hotel's website (http://www.orlandoairport.hyatt.com/. You can sometimes find pretty good internet specials there; AAA discounts as well, if you're a member.

Good luck!

If Hotwire's policies are like Priceline's (and I suspect they are), keep in mind that you are behind the full-price customers for any requests. We use Priceline a lot, and this has only been a problem for us once...we had to take a smoking room at the MCO Marriott. But we are almost always placed in a connecting room, unless the hotel is not very full. On the flipside, when occupancy is low, they have given us really nice rooms. We had a lake view at the Marriott on our last trip, and when we were at the Gaylord Palms a while back, we had a "Key West view" room...it was a connector, but for the price (1/3 off their regular rate) the view was well worth it.
Their ability to accommodate you will depend on the season and how full they are.

Having 6 kids, I either need a suite or 2 rooms. I wondered about how you could get 2 roooms together on priceline. I saw a rate of $41.00 on hotwire for a suite with free breakfast and other amenities near the airport, I would think is amerisuites. Have you ever had a suite come up one of the smaller rooms they call a "suite" and not have it sleep at least 6? I need to make sure before I buy, since Iwill be stuck with what I get. Thanks a milliion.. Melissa

Just be careful with hot wire. My coworked just booked and was trying for the Hyatt, took the one without the shuttle listed, and ended up with the Crowne Plaza, which has 24 hr shuttle service. The shuttle service was not listed. I think hot wire or else the hotels are getting wise to people passing along the tricks to get certain hotels and are changing the amentities listed . Although he is not upset with what he got because the price was lower then anything else he could find.
