Hotwire Car rental question

Hi, I just booked my Septmber 2011 rental with Hotwire for 9.95/ day midsize (Alamo) - with tax and fees it was $233 for 2 weeks. Compared to what I was seeing, a pretty good rate.

QUESTION: When I get to the rental counter are there going to be any surprises? My friend just warned me that her rental ended up A LOT more than her quote. I have collision and 3rd Party liability confirmed through my personal auto insurance, what also
will they try to sell me and is anything mandatory? I've rented a lot but always in Canada. My rate has always been the same as my quote.

Oh and she mentioned something about a transponder for tolls. Can't I just pay as I go? Is this another money grab or worth it?
