Wednesday April 30

So today we left disneyland:( and headed to LA:cool1:

In the morning, before we had to check out, my dad got up early, and walked down to hertz to pick up our rental car. While he was gone, my mom and I grabbed some breakfast, and then made sure everything was packed up, and then we checked every drawr and under the bed to make sure we weren't forgetting anything. We werent so then we waited for my dad. He got back, we checked out and headed for LA! WHOOP WHOOP! So we drove down, and didn't run into too much traffic, and headed to Olvera Street. For those who don't know what it is, it is sort of like China town, only mexican. It has a street with some vendors/ mexican fastfood, and shops. There is also one of the oldest houses in LA which is kinda cool The old house is called the "Pueblo" Which I don't quite get. My spanish teacher says Pueblo means town, so I am not sure why this one house is called that? Hmm. LOL. We find a parking space, and then head over to Olvera street. First things first, we get a churro. These are the best churros in the world!!!!! So then we do some shopping. They have some kind of cool, traditional mexican stuff. There are a lot of stands, and a couple shops. I think all we ended up with was two bracelets (a birthday present for my mom from me, her birthday was april third, so I was a little late, but she told me to wait untill california, lol) They are pretty, and supposed to bring luck. My moms is triple luck and supposed to just be SUPER LUCKY and mine is the humming bird, which is supposed to bring me luck in love :lovestruc . We also baught these catholic saint charms. My mom got Saint Christopher, who protects travelers, and I got one with Saint Francis on one side and Saint Anthony on the other, one of these is supposed to protect your pets, not sure which though. At the same store I baught some finger traps. LOL. They had other cool things, such as paper flowers that I would have baught if they wouldn't get crushed in my suitcase. SO then my parents got a couple tacos, and then baught candy. Me and my mom got watermelon hard candy filled with chlli powder, which was soooo hot, and my mom got a lime which everything was scooped out and only the peel was left, and then it was stuffed with coconut. I got a sesame seed brittle, and my mom got a peanut/pumpkin seed/sesame seed brittle, and my dad didn't want anything. Dud. LOL. I then baught a grab bag with a toy in it for 1 dollar. My toy was a squishy ball filled with water, which I annoyed my mom with endlessly! So then we headed out. We drove to the LA farmers market. First things first, I headed to Three Dog Bakery, to pick up my puppies some souvenier dog biscuts, and then my parents went to the crepe place to get crepes suzette. While they were waiting for their crepe, I went to a bakery and baught this AMAZING meringue cookie. It was meringue, with chocolate chips and walnuts in it. YUMMM! I am so going to re create this one!!! So then they ate their crepe, and I had my cookie :cloud9: and we went to look around. Now, I haven't mentioned it yet, but one of my goals this trip was to find a Pinkberry. For those of you who have not tried the amazing pinkberry/ have no idea what it is (It is not a fruit! :rotfl: ) it is a frozen yogurt shop. It is kinda similar to coldstone creamery (which I don't really like) but it is frozen yogurt, and you can pick toppings. They had three different types of frozen yogurt which were green tea, coffee, and vanilla. They gave us a sample of all of them, they were all good, but I decided on the vanilla. The topping I picked was fresh Pineapple. OMG IT WAS SO GOOD! It is my new favorite food, and they only have them in NY and CA. BUT YUMMMMMMMM. I want one now! LOL. SO I was so happy to find a pink berry  and it exceeded my expectations :cloud9: So then we went to have lunch. I am seeing a theme for today, EATING!!!! My mom got korean barbeque, me and my dad got Gumbo. I got shrimp and crab gumbo, which was good but SOOOO Spicy. My dad got chicken and andouille sausage. I got a side of vegetarian collard greens :cloud9:. SO then we headed over to buy a fruit plate to take to the hotel, and headed out. Now we headed over to our hotel, the days inn. It was OK. They had underground parking, I hate parking garages, they freak me out, SO we checked in, and you needed a key for everything. The parking garage, the elevator, doors, and to get to the pool. LOL. So we got in the elevator, which was soooo tiny, and I hate elevators, so I really hated that. So then we looked in our room, it was SUPER SMALL and smelled gross. Plus, it had no refrigerator. GRR. Oh well. We went down, and got our luggage, and got in that Teeny elevator again. This time it got to our floor and the doors didn't open. EEEEEKKKK. But then we waited, then pushed the button, and they finally opened. THis probably took us 15 seconds, but to me, who has elevator phobia, it felt like forever! So we got setttled, then headed out to explore LA. We drove around beverlly hills, and then headed to RODEO DRIVE :lovestruc. Sigh, so much beutiful clothes. I almost baught a pair of Zebra striped Coach shoes on sale for FIFTY DOLLARS, but then my dad reminded me that we are heading to an outlet mall on friday, so I might want to save my money, and I did. But they were cute! I liked rodeo drive a lot. Then we headed to Pinks Hot Dogs. MY Dad LOVES this place. I think it is SO SO, but since I don't eat meat, it isn't much to choose from. The last time we were there, about 3 years ago, I got a veggitarian hot dog, which was just gross. I love all that vegetarian fakey meat stuff, such as veggie burgers, corndogs, chiken nuggets, veggie sausage patties, etc. But that was just gross, and so I didn't want to try it again. Oh, and this is off topic, but for any vegetarian out there, an amazing thing is the Morningstar Farms vegetarian Buffalo wings. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM even my meat eating mom loves them!!!! So then we ordered. Both my parents got some sort of hot dogs, and I got nachos with cheese and jalepenos. They put TONS of jalepenos on so I had to pick most of them off, and a lot of cheese, but they were really good. I couldn't finnish my whole order of them! So after that we headed back to the hotel, and if we did anything else interesting that night, I cannot remember. :confused3

sounds like a fun trip, cant wait to see pictures! yes it was a very hot week you were here in our lovely state, ever since its been cold, why did you have to bring your cold front and leave it? haha i went to seattle last weekend to return it, but i guess the transaction didnt process

sorry I haven't finnished my trip report yet! I am a bad reporter, I will finnish by this weekend, I promise, before everyone gets mad!:duck:

WOW! I have not posted in so long! With finals and then starting my summer job I have been too busy! But here we go!!

Thursday May 1, Universal studios and a Pigout fest!

So today we did Universal Studios. First things first, we got up and had breakfast. The hotel offers a free continental breakfast with pastries, juice, coffee, fruit, cereal, bagels and breads and a toaster to toast them in. So we had breakfast then off to the park!

We entered, and one of the first things was we were asked to take a survey. We took it, and were given front of the line passes for the studio tram tour! So we went over to were the tour starts, bypassed a HUGE HUGE HUGE line and got on the first tram! What a time saver! Reminde me to always take surveys lol. So after that we went to go watche terminator 3-D. This show was ok, I didn't care much for it. It was very loud! Then we headed over to get something to eat. Unless you are on city walk, the food options at Universal are very limited. My parents got ballpark franks, and since I am a vegetarian, I got potatoe chips (dipped in ketchup, yum lol, I am so odd!) and a churro (also dipped in ketchup. GOTCHA! LOL. Not really. YUCK!) Then we went and watched waterworld, which was OK, nothing special. Then we went to go watch shrek 4-d, which again is Ok, Nothing Special! Universal studios is just so-so I think. What I did notice is everything is SOOOOOOOOO LOUD!!!!!!!!![/SIZE] Everything from the rides to these trams driving around playing music. Unbearably loud. Then my dad went and did the house of horrors. I was scared, lol, and me and my mom sat outside near the exit. You should see some of the people coming out of there, you would have been scared to! I'm talking grown adults running out, and younger kids comming out jut bawling! My dad says it wasn't that bad, but no thank you! Then we went to the lower lot and did the animal show, which I always love and is really cute. Then me and my dad did the mummy, which I always love and is sooooooo cool! Then we all did jurassic park which is also really fun.

After this we headed to city walk. We shopped around then had dinner. We chose wolfgang puck. My dad had the Chinuagh (spelling? pronounce Cheen-Waw) chicken salad, which looked like a chinese chicken salad, and then me and my mom shared a pizza margharita, which OMG was the best pizza ever. They now have them in frozen pizza, and everybody should try it. It has tomatoes and basil and is pretty garlicky but SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!! The best pizza ever! Then I got some Ice cream from ben and jerrys (phish food). If anybody doesnt know what phish food is, it is chocolate icecream with marshmallow and caramal swirll, and then chocolate fishes. The marshmallow has no gelatin in it! YAY! Then we drove back to the hotel. We dinked around a little bit before starting our pig out fest!! Not even kidding. In walking distance from our hotel was an El Pollo Locco and an In and Out Burger. Wow we ate a lot that night!!!!!! 2 burgers, 3 orders of frenchfries ( I had one of these), 1 chocolate milkshake ( I had half of this, YUMM in and outs milkshakes are delicious!), 1 in and out tshirt (no, we didn't eat this, lol. My dad wanted one!), a chicken taco, an order of beans, lots of chicken, churros, and a side salad (mine, yummy, had cilantro dressing and cilantro in it, I love cilantro). WOW we were all soooooo full after that. We just sat in the hotel room and ate, lol. So that was pretty much the end of our last day in LA!

Yeah, hot weather is good, but this was unbeliavably hot, like 100 degrees hot, I think it might have set a record but not sure. I have gone in may before and it was comfortably hot, around 80-85, our last day there was good though, around 80.

Oh, and our first day, the hottest one, we waited in line for over an hour for grizzley, and hardly got wet at all! What sense does that make? Lol. The one time you REALLY REALLY want to get soaked, you barely get drizzled on. LOL. Go figure! :confused3 :lmao:

 My last update!

Friday May 2

This is was our last day, and possibly the funnest!

We had breakfast, and then checked out of our hotel. We then headed to the Cittadel Outlet Mall. SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING! This was so much fun. I absolutely love shopping, and getting a good deal is even better. Some great outlets here were the, BCBG, DC, Journeys, and Tommy Hilfiger. SO I am going to spare you guys all the boring details of my shopping adventure (lol, yeah, i dont think anybody cares what the clothes that I baught look like!) but I have to give a couple details just because I was so excited! Claires had headbands on sale 4 for 1.00! What a good deal, and cute to! And at the pacsun outlet, they had a tshirt that I was so happy to find! It is the pacsun surf team tshirt, is blue, and has the pacsun surf team logo on the bottom left side, and all the sponsors on the back. I was super excited to find this because at our pacsun they sold them, and I really wanted one, but all they had was guys! I didn't even think they made girls! WHOOPPEEEE! I also almost left my Michael Kors sunglasses in the dressing room at pacsun and almost had a mini heart attack. I found them though!!

So we had lunch at the outlet mall, and then headed out to the car to cram all our new purchases into our suitcases :rotfl: I think in total with everything we baught combined, we probably had about 8 shirts, 2 sweatshirts, 5 headbands, 1 pair of shorts, and 2 pairs of shoes. And our suitcases were crammed when we left the house, and then with all our souvenier goodies, and then all this! WOW!! We did it though! LOL!

We then were driving around, trying to figure out what to do, it was about 1 and our plane didnt take off untill 7. What to do, what to do, We then made a spur of the moment trip to Newport Beach! I am so glad we did!! The beach was beautiful, I rolled up my pants and went in almost up to my knees, and the sand was gorgeous, even the seagull were pretty!!!!!!!!! The water was so blue, and it was so much fun to watche the surfers. This place is magical. So we walked around and looked in some shops, and got the best gelato. My mom got chocolate, my dad got chocolate chip, and since I didn't want to get something I could just buy at safeway when I got home, I baught Strawberry Icecream with cocolate chunks in it. :lovestruc SO good! But not pinkberry! LOL! SO then we headed to the airport and had dinner there. Mcdonalds. BORING! LOL. Then it was time to board the plane and head home. :guilty: And oh my gosh, once we got back to seattle at about 10:00, it seemed so cold! LOL. Better put on that sweatshirt...

THE END!

Did you ride "The Mummy" at US? It was SO fun! Yes, Terminator 3-D is off the scales loud.. but I liked it (wiht my ears plugged the whole time). :rotfl2:

I hope you will get photobucket'ed.. I would be really interested to see all of your stuff come to life in living color :flower3:
