I was trying to check my email and I get this message when using Firefox...
This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to login.live.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

When I use IE, I get this message...There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.

If you arrived at this page by clicking a link, check the website address in the address bar to be sure that it is the address you were expecting.
When going to a website with an address such as https://example.com, try adding the 'www' to the address, https://www.example.com.
If you choose to ignore this error and continue, do not enter private information into the website.

For more information, see "Certificate Errors" in Internet Explorer Help.

Is anyone else getting this or does it sound like we have a virus?

Make sure the date and time on your computer are right> I have this problem at work and the date/time are really off.

I just logged in via the ssl page and didn't get a certificate error. Without viewing the error you are getting I can't tell you what it is. If you are the only one getting it you may need to update your root certificate registry. Perhaps your browsers can't verify the certificate because they can't follow the chain of trust back to the root certificate authority.

There are a lot of things it could be from something truly malicious to something completely benign. Certificates can be a complicated animal.
