hotmail issues?

I have my hotmail linked to my outlook express... well apparently no more

Is anyone having this problem?

Could not connect to Hotmail as jr###@msn.com.

So they want me to pay $20/year for access to my email through my outlook express?



The thing I REALLY dont understand is taht I have a paid msn account and I cant get to that either now through outlook express?

I think hotmail is going through a bit of an upgrade/restructuring at the moment. I logged on last night (via the website) and was shocked to discover that my account, usually around 70% full, was now at 1%. I thought I had lost all the emails I had there, until I realized that my account limit had gone from 2mb to 250mb. I checked with my other hotmail account and it was the same thing.

My mother, who also has hotmail accounts, has not yet had her account limits raised. So I'm guessing they're in the process of reworking things.

I just checked my hotmail account and I still have only 2 mb of space.
No upgrade for me.

I don't know if this will help or not. We just recently switched over to Verizon DSL with MSN Premium. During installation I had to create a .NET passport & user ID. It said that they "don't support" Outlook/OE with MSN/Hotmail. However, there was something called "Outlook Connector" that I could download to allow me to have MSN/Hotmail email arrive in my Inbox.

I don't have a link for the "Outlook Connector" but you should probably be able to either Google it or dig around for it on the MSN site.

Once I installed it, I had no trouble seeing the mail.

My problem with hotmail this week is all of my messages are sorted by most recent date. If I sort them the way they normally are, I can not see my second page.

I'll have to test the Outlook Express connection at home. I normally check email here at work, but I do have it set up that way at the house.

ok dh called tech support and got this answer.

We had to go and set up our MSN Premium account and then link all of our free hotmails to that account.
Other wise it would have cost the $20/ year to have the hotmail accounts accesible through outlook express.


Does that make sense?
