Hotels that are closest to the entrance gate

I'm looking for a hotel (other than the Disneyland hotels) that is very close to the actual entrance of the park. Many hotels boast their "right across the street" status, but what they don't tell you is that you still have to walk for 20 minutes to get to the gate.

My twin boys will be 3 by the time we go and will probably still be taking naps, so proximity is crucial.

Thanks!

Best Western Park Place Inn or Tropicana are my favorites places to stay right across the street. If we can't get our amazing Ent. Rate at the HoJo or a great AP rate at PP or DLH (very rarely GCH) we stay at the Tropicana.

Carousel is close, too.

But even with a tired 3 year old, if I get the super-secret Entertainment Book rate at HoJo ($59/night if available), I stay there. Last trip when I stayed at Carousel but could see the HoJo sign with my naked eye when I stepped out onto the sidewalk, I just couldn't believe how close it really is, even though it seems so far away.:upsidedow

We're going to stay at the Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites which is one of the closest offsite hotels and gets mostly good reviews (aside from their apparent so-so breakfast fare). We booked a two room suite for $99 a night.

Another vote for Desert Inn & Suites - nice hotel, polite employees - yes the breakfast is plain & simple, but will hold you over until an early (beat the rush) lunch at Disney. And it is directly across from the DL entrance!

Stay away from Kaptain Kidds buffet restaurant - awful food that sat for weeks, literely!

We are staying at the Camelot Inn, how far is it?

I've seen some people say that it is close but I worry about the same things...

Of the popular hotels on this site:

BWPPI, Tropicanna, Park Vue 5 min walk to Security Check
Carousel Inn, Camelot 6 minute walk
HoJos, CCI 10 - 15 minute walk depending on walking speed.

Hope this helps

oh its right there...when you are facing the hotels on the crosswalk from disney, immediately across the way to the left is PPI and camelot is right next to it and then theres mcdonalds, mimis and in back of mimis is Fairfield inn and then across from mimis is hojo...its all very compact...camelot is a nice place...you done good:goodvibes

I like this site: http://www.accommodationsneardisney.com/default.asp

Anything from about Disney Way to Manchester is walking distance, however many are AT the crosswalk. Best Western (both) Desert Inn and Suites, Del Sol Anaheim Plaza, Castle Inn all good.

I'm looking at Best Western's surrounding Disneyland (within 1 mile on the list I'm looking at) and I see 7:

Raffles - 2040 S Harbor
Golden Key - 13450 Lincoln Way
Anaheim Inn - 1630 S Harbor
Anaheim Hills - 5710 East La Palma
Stovalls - 1110 West Katella
Pavillions - 1176 W Katella

So, my questions! (Yes, I do have some!)

Which is BWPPI?

Someone said "Best Western (both)" Which two are normally referred to?

Obviously within walking distance is the most important, and a mile isn't that far (we're only there for one day), and breakfast isn't an issue either, since we're driving 3 hours, staying a night, doing Disneyland, spending another night then up and onto our cruise!

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

BWPPI is the Best Western Park Place Inn. It is the closest good neighbor hotel to the DLR gates.

Use my links above this way. Find the BW hotel of interest in the "Bret's Lodging" link. If it is not on Bret's link it is too far to walk - probably over a 25 minute walk.

Then look at the list of hotels in the "How Far Is It" link and find one close to yours and estimate the distance.

I am a huge Tropicana fan! Clean, friendly staff, so close you can walk out the front gates of the hotel and see the cross walk right into the park, the breakfast isnt bad at all, and they have a decent pool.

Im staying at the park vue inn right across the street , but for some reason it hardly seems to get a mention??? :laundy:
