Hello. We are planning to drive from NH to WDW in February for the first time. We have four kids seven and under and are bringing an additional adult. The kids have some serious special needs (autism, ADHD, tourettes, OCD - the list goes on) So, driving straight through is not an option for them, or me. I am hopeful that someone knows a great, reasonably priced hotel to stop at about halfway through? Fingers Crossed!

Thanks!

You have 4 kids and 3 adults. Are you sure you have enough room for everyone, luggage and "stuff" you need in the car for your trip?:confused3

There is a long thread on tips for people driving long distances. Check there.

JMO but you need to decide how many hours you can drive. You may need to break up the driving over 3 days, not 2.

Hi. My son with ASD can't stay in a regular hotel room for long periods, so we always try to get a suite or studio suite. Florence SC has a Suburban Extended Stay hotel that is reasonably priced and has studio suites for around $55.

We also really like most Country Inn and Suites, they have a 1 BR suite that can sleep 6 with a separate bedroom and small living room with a sofabed.

With 7 of you, you'll probably need to rent two rooms, although there are a couple of larger hotels with 2 BR suites, but they will run you close to $200 a night.

There is a thread (somewhere) about hotels along 95, and of course, the "For 2000+ drivers only II" thread which discusses everything about driving. Best thread on the DIS for information. If you have a question about the drive or any aspect of it, someone has already done it and can answer.

Thanks for the info on the threads and I will check out the suites in florence. :)

We have that many people all the time, so yeah our van ought to do just fine. I know I probably should have searched through all the threads first... But I only have naptime to find things and I want to book the hotel for the way down in advance.

Thanks again!

we drive down from NJ and always stop eith in Florence or in Santee SC,its a big stop with lots of choices for hotels and resturants etc.
Also this site is very helpful it will tell you what hotels, resturants, points of interest are for every exit on 95 as well as help you break down you trip into the best place to stop if you are doing 1 nt,2nt or 3nt stops...tells you where construction is, how much tolls are etc...so helpful for our drives!

AWESOME! That link has got to be exactly what I was looking for! I also discovered the super 8 motel in Florence, their rates are quite good and they have only good reviews. Thank you guys SO much. Still nervous about the drive, but with the ahead planning I think it will be better!:yay:
