I have a few hotels I am looking into and I want to know what people think, if they have stayed there and all... Things you need to know. I am not interested in staying at WDW. I will be on my honeymoon, but the hotel is mainly a place to sleep. I don't think much time will be spent there. So I am NOT looking for extreme quality, but I don't want cockroach motels either! :-)
So, tell me what you think:

Master's Inn Maingate
(I have a rate for 31.90$ plus one night free)

EconoLodge maingate
(29.95)

HowardJohnson Maingate East (what does the east mean?)
(29$-34.95) includes a microwave and minifridge in the higher price

Courtyard by marriot
(I think I can get a pretty good rate, but I haven't actually looked)

Does anyone know anything about any of these places (I have already read what people thought of courtyard on this board, so just if there is something new!)

I know you have said that you don't plan to spend a lot of time at your hotel but from my experience with most of the chains you listed, you won't be very happy with their cleanliness, amenities and overall quality and appearance. A rule you can almost always count on is this. If you pay peanuts you get monkeys. With that said I would like to reccomend looking into a stay at the Country Inn and Suites at Calypso Cay (calypsocay.com click on Updated Construction Photos). This hotel is new and clean with some nice ammenities. I booked a few nights for Christmas time through Valuetrips.com and got some exceptional rates. The rates are slightly higher than those you listed but worth the increase.
I would also reccomend the Courtyard by Marriot located on Disney property because of the special rate of $25 a night they are offering right now. This is an excellent location (walking distance to Downtown Disney) at an outstanding rate.
I hope this helps you have a pleasant Honeymoon.

aetrom, you'll be very disappointed in the hotels you've listed. They really are shabby and not more than a musty smelling room with damp sheets.

Try the places recommended above, or at least the Double Tree Suites. They are not terrific, but are much better than the places you've listed.

There is a perfectly adequate and clean HoJo's on Irlo Bronson (192). It is billed as the largest HoJo's in the area (to help you know which one of many). It is quite reasonable, clean, basic and not far from the attractions.

Good luck and by the way, welcome to the DIS!

We stayed at the Magic Castle and paid $33 a night for a suite.(Bigger room)

It was clean and had a free breakfast.

If you would like to see pictures please let me know.
All we wanted was a clean place to rest our heads and we got it there. We know what it is like to travel on a budget and this was a great surprise for the price.
