We're flying from Heathrow in October with United Airlines, last year we stayed at The Hilton but that was near terminal 4 so a bit of a trek to terminal 3! Does anyone know which hotels are closest to terminal 3.
Thanks
Anthony

Don't know about hotels, but we are flying with United in Oct (13th)as well. We decided just to drive to the airport. They were good last time & hopefully just as good this time. :cool1:

We live not far from Heathrow and there are some good hotels in the near vacinty (sp?). They all run shuttle buses very regularly. Also the main Bath Road which is the road that Heathrow runs along has all the bigs ones like Holiday Inn, Sheraton etc, may be worth having a look on their websites.

I flew to Canada 3.5 weeks ago and stayed in the Thistle. It needs a little refurbishment (our air con didn't work), but we had a big family room for myself, DW and DD. It cost me £90 for the 1 night stay and included 15 days parking. We waited about 10 mins for the shuttle bus, which due to traffic took about 30 mins to get to the airport.

Coming back, we again waited about 10 mins for the bus, and it took under 10 mins to get back to the hotel.

Thanks
problem is we fly @ 8.00am, think we need to be at the terminal 3 hours before and we found last year that the shuttles started at 5am. Felt it was cutting a little fine!
Michelle we fly on the 11th, we also flew with them last year at the end of Nov to Australia via Orland (needed a fix :earsboy: ) and found them excellent. We live in Gloucestershire so would mean a very early start :earseek:

We stayed at the Park Inn just a few weeks ago before heading to New York. It was extremely close to all of the terminals and of a good standard with an excellent pool and gym. I would have preferred the Sheraton Skyline but we needed two rooms for all five of us, so this was the best choice.

Check out the website

Another vote for Sheraton Skyline.

Hi,
I've used the Crowne Plaza a couple times and it was good. They have a shuttle bus to the terminals or if your in a hurry they will get you a taxi.

Crowne Plaza

Mick.

Well the Sheraton does look very good, little bit more expensive but hey DW is paying
Does anyone know if the 3 hours before is that strict, when we got there last year there seemed to be a delay before they opened.

Last time we flew with United, the check in desk didn't open till 6am. We are going to get there for 5am and meet up with my parents.
