We're driving down to WDW from SC, and plan to stay one night off site, so we can get a good night's sleep and then drive in early the next morning and have our first whole day doing the parks. We're not thrilled about meandering around all the busyness of Orlando or Kissimee looking for a hotel because we don't know our way around at all. How convenient would Davenport be, anybody ever stayed there?

I rented a vacation home in Davenport. It's a very nice area!! Very close to WDW. There was a hotel there...my mind is drawing a blank at the moment...it does that after 11pm!!:lmao: It looked pretty expensive and fancy to us. You could try a google search for Davenport FL Hotels. That should give you some ideas.

Have fun!!

PS: WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!!

Davenport isn't that far ( 15 - 20 min) and many people stay out on 27 in private homes and make the trip into Disney everyday. But if you're driving down I -4 you could easily take the exit for Downtown Disney and stay there for a night at the Mariott properties that are near DTD right off exit 68: Springhill suites, Marriott Courtyard and the hotels along Hotel Plaza Blvd. Exit 67 will also take you to DTD area. Here's a map and you can click on the hands to see more detail. It's the red exit numbers that you look for.

If you stayed there you would be less than 5 min from Disney.

Davenport is a huge area, just be aware that your area could be farther then you want. Make sure you map the actual address.

Thanks everyone!! We finally fixed on the Hampton Inn North in Altamonte Springs. Price was right and it doesn't look far for our early morning drive to WDW the next day to check in to VWL for the following five days. Three more weeks to go, can't wait!!!
