We are driving down from Newcastle to DLP in July and want to spend the first night in the Calais area to break up the journey and again on the way back.

Most of the hotels we have looked at have rooms for a child but not a child and an infant as we need a cot in there with us too.

We will only be sleeping there really so don't want to pay a fortune. As many hotels in Calais are fully booked, could anyone recommend anywhere on the roadside like a travelodge type of hotel just outside on the road to Paris?

Our last resort would be to drive the whole way but we aren't sure how long our toddler will tolerate his car seat!

Just an idea, but wouldn't it be easier to stay in/around Dover?

There is a Travel Inn near Dover Click here for details . We stayed here on our last trip and found it cheap and there is a Brewsters pub next door which caters for kids, (I have 2).

Hope this helps?
