Hi,
My friend is getting married on Oct 16th in the centre of Birmingham. I will need somewhere cheap to stay the night, or will have to catch the last train home. I have checked out the Travelodge sale and The Premier Inn sale, but there isn't anything for a Saturday night.

Could anyone recommend somewhere? Alternatively does anyone know of a a hotel centrally located that I could book using Tesco vouchers?:)

Just had a quick look into the Etap site and its about £40 (on your date) just as a cheap suggestion :goodvibes

P.S not too sure where it is located as I just did a quick search =]

Thanks - I'll have a look.:thumbsup2

I stayed at the Ibis in Birmingham when I went to a work conference last year. It was reasonably cheap but very comfortable

We have stayed there before. It is very close to Birmingham New Street. It was clean, but very basic (think youth hostel, but with private room)

There's a Macdonald's hotel in Birmingham (The Burlington?) which may be covered by Tesco vouchers.

There are loads of hotels and B&B's on the Hagley Road leading into Brum so might be worth looking there.

if you are staying wiht the kids, maybe the novotel (kids under 16 stay for free)
if not the ibis is good, and central.
whilst the hagley rd area would be cheaper its a fair way out of town, and a taxi might cost a bit.
worse case scenario, you could stay with us:rotfl2:

Don't joke, Tracy, as the way money is at the moment, we might turn up with our over night bags!:rolleyes1

I'm seriously considering coming home on the train. Other people's weddings are sooo expensive.:rotfl: It's my 40th 3 days after her wedding, and I don't want to use up all my babysitting 'favours'. I would like a kid-free evening for my birthday too.

I will check out all of the suggestions. I have noticed that City Inn is now part of the Tesco scheme too.

you d be more than welcome, you would have to share the sofa bed with two fat bassett hounds though:rotfl2:
