We're DVC members but won't have any remaining points for our 2009 marathon stay. We're considering Dixie Landings (or WL or AKL if we can get a good AP rate) as we don't want to pay the hideous prices at the monorail resorts.

If you're not on the monorail line or near Epcot, does it matter what resort you're staying at?

Disney does a great job with transportation from all of their on-property resorts. They hire in extra busses and run them from 3am-4am. So, you'd have no issues getting to the race from any of the resorts :)

BWI, BC or YC would eb very convenient to get tot teh Monday WISH breakfast that's usually at BW Bakery. Not to mention that you can walk to MGM or Epcot.

We'd normally be staying at the BWV, but no points left after a March trip and an October trip. We've never been able to score great rates at those resorts and with it being our 3rd trip in 1 year, we're trying to do this one cheaper, but I completely agree with the Epcot area - we love it!

Hi!

We stayed at POR (formerly Dixie Landings) for the Half this year. We found the transportation to be very convenient, and we really liked taking the boat ride to DTD. This gave us many more dining options with relative ease. POR was also easy to get around, we found it to be charming.

Best of luck with your choice, and the 2009 races!
Maria
