I'm using Hotels.com for the first time for our vacation next week. I've booked 5 nights and Wyndham Bonnet Creek through Hotels.com and now I'm a little nervous about it. Now I'm beginning to think I should have booked directly through Wyndham.

For those of you who have used them before, what has your experience been? TIA - I could cancel and book through Wyndham today....:confused3

used it once - years ago - when it was fairly new. no problems but as I say that was years ago.

This site used to be a major pain. Last year when I had to cancel a reservation, they charged a $25 fee (may have even been for each day, not sure). They said they wouldn't charge a fee if I changed the date, but I couldn't at that time.

However, I think they have been through some major changes and I believe that they no longer charge that fee.

That is correct. They no longer charge any fee to change or cancel, although they do pass along any fee the hotel itself charges for changes/cancellations (which if you book through the hotel you would have to pay anywway).

Hotels.com are part of Expedia. I used to use them but personally think they are overpriced, you might find the odd deal on there.

Just wanted to report that we had no problems at all with our Hotels.com reservation. I was happy with the price and had a very easy check-in at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. I would not hesitate to use them again.

If Hotels.com is a subsidiary of Expedia, I wonder why Expedia charges the $25 cancellation fee, whereas hotels.com only passes on the hotel's cancellation policy???

Oh my gosh, it was WONDERFUL! I really stressed about not staying with Disney, but once I got there, I was so glad I didn't....and I don't know if I ever will again! The place is pure luxury. You couldn't be closer to MGM and Epcot. The drive from the parking lot of BC to MK and AK were both under 10 minutes. We could even see the Epcot fireworks each night.

You do lose the ability to use the transportation to the parks, but I actually found that I prefer to rent a car. It actually seems quicker, and it's very easy to get around.

Bonnet Creel is awesome. The resort is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend it to anyone. I hope I get a chance to stay there again. Next time, I will enjoy some relaxation time around the resort. There were pools and mini-golf and other daily activities that we didn't get a chance to enjoy.

I see you're going to the Grand Canyon. We're considering that for our next trip later this year. I'd love for you to share your plans...where are you staying, etc.?

Thanks!!!

You will find many companies have different policies. For eg. I own Florist shops, 1 has a free delivery offer over $25 my other has free delivery over $40. but both have same coverage area. Its whatever the company owners can get away with, what their customers are used to, policies inherited from previous owners etc etc. all sorts of reasons.

I guess with Expedia its the bigger brand and it does not stop people booking thru them but with Hotels.com is was affecting bookings.

We went to Grand Canyon for the day in October, awesome day out drove from Vegas, did the glass walkway.
