I booked the Pop thru Hotels.com, as they had a discount available. Is there any way to put that reservation into My Disney Experience?

You need to phone up the Hotels.com phone line and ask them for the Disney reference number, which is different to the booking number on your confirmation email. I can't remember what the reference should begin with but no doubt someone else in the Forum will.

Just as an FYI, it did take a while for them to get me the Disney number the last time I did it but I found the staff very helpful otherwise.

Well the guy I just spoke with was less than helpful. He first insisted there was only a reference number they could use, but when pressed did give it to me. But it didn't work.

I've seen this happen to other people. What worked for them is rather than calling they sent an email and the correct Disney code was emailed back to them. Worth a try?

I will give it a shot. Thanks!

I email. 12 digit number that starts with 4 is what you're looking for.

DH is a super user of hotels.com so we do get extra decent service but if you email you at least give them time to find it.

Bumbershoot--is that what you tell them you are looking for? Maybe I am not phrasing my request correctly. Do you say you are looking for a 12 digit number that starts with 4, in order to link to the My Disney Experience AP?

I just did a booking last week through Hotels.com, and yesterday I called DIsney directly to get my Reservation #

I don't know if they're normally not supposed to give it when booked through another vendor rather than them directly, but the girl did reconfirm it to me

Yes, call Disney. I did one through Travelocity and Disney will give you the number. All they need is your confirmation number and they'll look it up and give you the number you need to link it to my Disney experience

Oh my gosh, I think next time I will just stick with booking thru Disney. I booked thru Hotels as they had availability for the Pop and Disney did not. I've had to call Disney twice, as the first time the phone system couldn't hear my voice commands, and couldn't recognize when I punched buttons on the phone. Now, after answering a million questions I'm on hold, waiting for an agent.

OMG the phone system is a piece of junk today. Once I could get thru, the CM couldn't get any of my info correct. I would read her my zip code, and she would turn the numbers all around. I would read her my name, and she messed it up 4 times! And now I am back to the system not hearing any of my inputs.

The CM I spoke with insisted it would take 2 weeks for the number to transfer over. As she kept reading me back my zip and phone number wrong, I'm sure she wasn't finding it because she was entering the wrong info. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Last year, I couldn't find my 12 digit numeric reservation number (beginning with number "4") because I booked through CAA instead of directly with Disney. I needed it for the BOG lunch fastpass. I searched online and found this tip (credit to the posters on reddit):

"Your reservation number can be found from the MyDisneyExperience website. If you log in, go to the "My Reservations" page, and near your hotel info, if you're within the 60 days, it will allow you to do a digital check-in for you hotel. Hover your mouse over the hyperlink, right click and choose "copy link address". Paste it into the top URL bar. On the end of the pasted URL, you should see a 12 digit number. That number is your "reservation ID" that you'll need! Good luck!"

It worked for me & showed me the reservation number that I needed. Hope it helps & this trick is still viable!

ps OP: you've contributed a huge amount of helpful info to all DISers so I hope this works for you! :-)

Now that I think about it, I called the tech desk so maybe that's why it went a bit better?

Though, I do know it is correct that it may take a few days for bookings to transfer over, but 2 weeks seems excessive. I work for a wholesaler, and when we had to wait on the Disney confirmation number, it could take up to 72 hours. I know it definitely wasn't 2 weeks since I made my booking when I got it from Disney.

But maybe give it a try with the tech desk instead. I called there because I didn't realize the 12 digits number in my confirmation email was with Hotels.com, not Disney, because there were 2 confirmation numbers within the email, so when I'd try to enter it in MDE it gave me an error message and advised me to call a number.

If you want to give it a try, the number is 407-939-7765

The second CM I spoke with is transferring me over to that department. She asked if I had the time to wait, and I said, heck I've spent almost an hour on the phone already, what is a few more minutes? She said, and I quote "I know, and I hate it" referring to the phone system.

Yay!!! An hour later, and finally someone who could just read me the darned number! I have it linked in MDE and am all set!!!

Holy cow, that aggravation was so not worth the $30 I saved. I think I am going to send Disney an e-mail about the whole experience. At least it will make me feel better.

I'm a bit late, but yes.

And I email because it gives them time. I'm in no hurry so I let them do their thing.

If Disney had no availability then you had no choice. And the problems were on disney's end, yes? We love hotels.com. Click through our fave rewards site to get money back, get that one night for every ten nights booked...better than what Disney offers for booking through them! :)
