We are sailing out of Miami for the first time in October. We are looking for a hotel that has shuttle to/from the airport and then from the hotel to the port. Any recommendations? It is just my husband and I so it doesn't have to be kid friendly and doesn't necessarily have to be that close to the beach.

i wouldn't limit yourself to hotel with shuttles. taxi's are abundant and very reasonable.

when we cruised out of miami we stayed at the intercontinental,http://www.icmiamihotel.com , and very much enjoyed it.if you are lucky you might get a room with a view of the port.

When we left from Miami in January, (on another line ...) we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott near the airport. They have a courtesy van to/from the airport and a shuttle service to the port, I think it was 12$ pp ....or something like that. When we got back, we overnighted at the Holiday Inn on Biscayne Blvd, and used supershuttle to get back to the airport. There is just 2 of us, so the supershuttle was reasonable. Next May, when we leave on DCL Wonder...:flower1: we're staying at the YVE hotel on Biscayne Blve...just down from the Holiday Inn.

Our plan is the Holiday Inn. We're paying for a shuttle to get from the airport to there (but we're flying into FLL) and then we'll take a taxi to port the next morning. It's so close you can see the ship if you have a room on the correct side. When I was originally researching hotels, I was unable to find any with a (free) shuttle to port. Not sure if you meant free or paid (but I assume the former).

If it's just the two of you I hghly recommend south beach area. Lots of fun. Aren't any free shuttles anywhere that I know Of. We have also stayed at the Holiday Inn. Nice place. Across street from Marketplace with lots of restaurants and bars. About 10 cab ride to port. And 15 to 20 coming from airport depending on traffic.

I don't think you'll find free shuttles. most I've heard of there's a charge. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Miami Brickell before the WBPC. Got a great rate, hotel was very nice. We took the Miami Metrorail - it goes direct from airport to a block from the hotel for under $3 per person. That same station has the free metro mover which you can use to get all over downtown Miami quickly. Then it was an inexpensive taxi ride to port.

We have stayed at both the Holiday Inn at POM and the Hampton Inn on Brickell in the last 12 months. Hampton was definitely a better room/hotel (free breakfast was nice as well). Holiday Inn is all about location. Nothing like looking out your window and seeing cruise ships. There was a development proposal for a new condo building next to the Holiday Inn when we were down there last August. Not sure if/when construction will begin but I am not sure I would want to stay next to it when they are building.

we are staying at Comfort Suites Miami Airport North, free transportation from airport and to port along with free breakfast. The earliest we can get to Miami though is after 8 pm and an 11+ hour flight so no reason to stay anywhere fancy or with views.

We stayed here as well. It's only about a 10min shuttle ride to port:). If you're not staying after cruise I think they charge $10(?)/pp for shuttle to airport. Highly highly recommend! Kinda bummed I can't find anything like this in PC!

I guess I better read the fine print. We debark in San Diego. We could take a cab cheaper than a shuttle.

Just a little FYI. Do you now that the Holiday Inn in front of Bayside is closing as of July 2015. It was sold and they are building condos there.

Is it the one at 340 Biscayne Blvd? We have a confirmed reservation there for December and I just went to their website and they're still taking reservations. :scared:

Where did you obtain this information? This is the second time I've heard this. The first time, I called and was told, "No." Now, today, I just called again. I spoke with someone at the front desk who seemed just as puzzled as the last time I called. He said he didn't know anything about that. Then he transferred me to the hotel manager who said that he hadn't heard that either. They both seemed genuinely puzzled so either why haven't been informed that they are losing their jobs in a few weeks or there's still no truth to this rumor.
