Hello,
My wife and I are going to visit DL Nov. 1st through 3rd. We are looking for a good hotel that we can either walk to Disney, or take a shuttle that is convenient. We are pretty picky about hotels. We are also looking to find a good rate as well... We looked at the Disney hotels, but they are very expensive... Would anyone be willing to help us find a good place to stay with either a shuttle service, or within walking distance? Thank you very much!

Hyatt (our favourite)
- has a shuttle shared with the Crowne Plaza
- adjacent to a Target where you can easily pick up snacks and bottled water to really save $$$
- gets good reviews on Tripadvisor
- you can get a $99 rate (PM me if you want to know how to get that rate)

Anaheim Marriott Suites
- no shuttle that I know of, but you can use the ART.
- across the street from the Target.
- really nice rooms
- gets good reviews on Tripadvisor
- $99 AAA rate that I once got...so there are deals to be had.

Anaheim Marriott
- a 15-min. walk to the DL front gates (we were walking with our DDs) or take the ART. But totally walkable.
- a convention hotel so rates do fluctuate.

Anaheim Hilton
- across the street from the Anaheim Marriott, so also a 15-min walk or ART
- stayed there once and found the hotel massively too big (another convention hotel) and the rooms very early '80s and weary. But most of the rooms, if not all, have been renovated since our stay...may be nicer now.

Then, there are the Residence Inn Garden Grove and the Embassy Suites South Garden Grove. They offer a free hot breakfast in the morning. We haven't stayed there yet, but they do get great reviews on Tripadvisor too. You can't walk to the parks from those hotels but they are on the ART route.

Are you renting a car? Take note that the Hyatt, Hilton, and Anaheim Marriott do charge for parking. I believe the Anaheim Marriott Suites have free self parking. If you do have a car and decide to drive it to the parks, it is $12 a day to park the car.

Hope that helps! Happy planning!

My absolute favorite hotel near Disney that is not a Disney hotel is the Candy Cane Inn. It is a smaller motel but the rooms are really nice and clean. The beads are comfy with lovely down comforters and wodden blids that block out the light well. THey have a free breakfast in the morning and a free shuttle that runs every half hour between the motel and the parks though it is an easy and pleasnt walk just up the street to the maingate.

I see a fairfield by marriot across the street from DL. Is this place any good?

Yes! I stayed there on my first ever trip last year, and am returning this year!

Very friendly...And comfy rooms.

Hottub/pool, internet access, Pizza hut in the hotel(it is a mini snack bar as well to get baked goods, drinks, etc...very convenient for breakfast etc).

It is about a 3 minute walk to the Park as it is right across the street. Many restauraunts, gift shops, and food stores within 5 minutes walking.

The Sheraton Park on Harbor Blvd. recently completed renovations. It looks real nice and you can walk (if your like long walks) or take a shuttle. We stayed at the other Sheraton on Disneyland Drive and the guest rooms there were nice. Nice comfortable beds.

the fairfield inn is nice, but it's still just a motel. If you're looking for a nice hotel you'll probably want to go somewhere else. I like nice hotels, but this certainly sufficed for only 1 night. The location was certainly a plus though.

We stayed at the Sharton Park Hotel on Harbour last December and we loved it. With it being close to the convention center it is very business orientated. I don't know how many families stay there as the walk is a little far for most people (not us though), 15 minutes. Plus you have the ART that goes every 20 minutes. You are the first picked up and the first dropped off. I'm not sure on rates as we had a package deal.

Oh and if you ask for a Disney view you can watch the fireworks from your balcony, it is a really pretty view over DCA.

Note to self - never stay at Candy Cane Inn. I'm allergic to feathers.

If you are picky, Try the Hotel Menage. It is on the corner of Ball Rd and Harbor Blvd. Very nice!! or Desert Inn on Katella just west of Harbor.

The two I posted are great if it's just you and your wife. Very close, 15 minute walk, beautiful rooms, inexpensive compared to DLR hotels. Please check them out.
