hotels across from Universal?

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew what hotels were directly across the street from Universal (not including hotels on the property like Hard rock, etc)? We want something nice that is right there. We've stayed on other hotels before on I-drive but hated waiting for the trolley or the shuttle so we want to be able to walk to it if we decided to do so.

There is the Amerisuites, a Best Western, the Radisson Hotel Orlando and one other that I just can't remember right now. I'll be over that side of town tomorrow so I can check it out and see what others are right there.

My daughter just stayed at the Holiday inn Universal. It's right across from City Walk. They loved it. I got her a great internet rate. (They got upgraded to a suite at check-in)

nowellsl, Thanks for the info! Do you know what street that particular Holiday Inn was located on? There are so many in that area! Were they able to walk there or did they take the shuttle?

The Holiday Inn is located at 5905 Kirkman Road. They did walk over a couple of times but they also had a car, so part of the time they drove. It wasn't a bad walk. If you decide on Holiday Inn, definately sign up for the priority club - it's free and that's how they got the free upgrade!

Thanks nowellsl! That was the Holiday Inn I was looking into! It's either going to be there or the Radisson which is right across the street from the Holiday Inn.

The holiday inn was the one I couldn't think of! The Radisson is really nice. It is a convention hotel, has a beautiful lobby and the rooms are a decent size. They too are on Kirkman. But they can be a little pricy. However, they sometimes run specials on their website. I know that we had a speaker stay there in early April and her room was only $79.00 a night.
