Hotel website?

Has anyone used hotels.com? Are they legit? I am trying to book a trip to Venice Italy and most of the hotels I have been looking up at their direct website are booked but when I go to hotels.com it is available. I don't get it. I'm afraid to book through there and have me get to the hotel and my reservation not be valid. Anyone ever have a problem?

I've used them many times and never had a problem, in US or in Europe. In fact, I've gotten good prices and will always check their rates every time I book a hotel room.

I work for hotels.com

Hotels.com buys out blocks of rooms from the hotels, and gets discounted rates for buying so many. So hotels.com's block of rooms shows sold in that particular hotels system. So it is quite possible for the hotel to be "sold out" and hotels.com still have availability.

Check expedia and travelocity too because often their rates are better.
