My sister and family are planning a trip from San Diego to Disney. They need a hotel with a kitchen because of my niece's (3 years old) many food allergies. Recommendations??

Residence Inn, Maingate. Have stayed there many times and never had had any issues with the place.

since we haven't been yet, I can't give any reviews. but I've found these hotels that have at least one room with a kitchen. also, it seems that some of them do not have ovens, just the stove top, so you may want to double check that if that feature is important.

Desert Palm Inn and Suites (Sahara Suite)
Homewood Suites
Staybridge Suites
Residence Inn Resort Area
Hampton Inn and Suites
Ramada Maingate
Park Vue Inn
Tropicana Inn and Suites

Hotels that I've stayed at with kitchens:

*Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area (close to Chapman Avenue) - This is a nice hotel. We stayed here when he had a large group because it had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living area, a kitchen and it accepted dogs. I can't remember what it is called, but on certain days of the week in the afternoon, they have a kids area to watch movies and get little "meals". The onlyt thing that I don't like about the hotel is it's location from Disneyland, I like to be close. (Sorry for being so informal!)

*Tropicana Inn & Suites (acorss the street) - All of my "childhood hotel memories" ;) when visiting Disneyland have been at this hotel. My parents always stayed at this hotel because of the convenient walk to the parks. I have stayed in the kitchen suite and it's an "okay" suite. The kitchen is a good size; I just didn't like the set-up of the bedrooms.

We will be staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in 2 weeks (between Chapman Avenue and Orangewood)

Another hotel that was of interest, but too far was Homewood Suites. We would have booked this hotel had it not been so far.

Between the hotels that I've stayed at, I would recommend Residence Inn over Tropicana, if location/distance is not a priority for you.

We stayed at Dolphins Cove Resort. We stayed through our timeshare, but they may take cash reservations, I am not sure. It was REALLY nice. They just went through a whole refurb. We had a room that was just done, we were the first to stay in it. Super nice! Full kitchen. My understanding is that it was an old apartment complex that was bought out and turned into rentals. It was pretty close to the park. We didnt walk it, but could have.

We almost stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Harbor. That was on our short list before the summer deals came out.
