Fellow hotel snobs! 
This is really good to know. We are going to WDW for the second time this December 
and last trip we stayed at the GF and POFQ. The GF was a disappointment, overall, and we definitely felt "robbed". IMO they REALLY REALLY need to get their shecaca together, on multiple levels.
POFQ was so much friendlier and welcoming. Yes, there were things it lacked (the monorail, sit down restaurants, turn down service--J/K--pfft! who needs that, really? and non-motel style A/C--but POFQ also lacked the crowds). We got verra verra tired of fighting our way through the lobby.
Since the kids are grown and married and we now have a grandson
we are looking to make a WDW vacation an annual gathering of the clan, and being able to "stand" a value resort would help everyone.
