I have made reservations to stay at the Hotel Royal Plaza. However, I am getting conflicting opinions regarding the rooms. How are they really? Is it only the tower rooms that are superior? Are the wing rooms dumps? I've read that people have met mold and mildew, stale smoke residue and generally shabby conditions upon arrival. Is this a true thing?

Help!!!!!

Thanks a bunch:confused:

We stayed in a wing room this past April... we found the hotel to be very nice and really can't think of anything bad to say about it except maybe that one of the buttons was broken on the remote control for the tv so you could only flip one way thru the channels... I'm sure if we complained the staff would have brought us a new one, but it was not an issue to us... the room was clean and did not appear to be "worn" and we did not smell any odd odors... we also liked the fact that the wing rooms are so close to the pool. I don't know what the tower rooms look like, but we would happily go back, especially for the rate we got from Priceline...

We stayed at the Royal Plaza in December 2002 in one of the wing rooms, we got a good rate through mousesavers.com. I must say, I was also concerned about some of the negative comments that I had heard about the hotel. It was a very pleasant stay and we only encountered one problem.

Shortly after we checked into our room, our older DS said that the carpet was wet (he was walking in socks). I figured it was only a spot, but sure enough the carpet was damp. We called the front dest and told them about the problem and they switched us to another room right away. This room was very nice and the carpet wasn't wet!;)

The staff at the restaurant (Giraffe Cafe), I think that's the name, was very helpful and friendly. I really liked the rooms in the wing area, as they all have patios with a door that opens to the pool. I would stay here again.

Enjoy your trip!
