Has anybody stayed at the Hotel Royal Plaza at Downtown Disney? I was able to get it for $64 a night during Easter week... which I think is a good rate for an official WDW hotel at that time of the year.

Does anybody have an opinion or experience there (good or bad)?

THANKS :p

That is a GREAT rate. Would you care to share with others how you got it?

HRP is an official Downtown Disney hotel. It has bus service to all the parks and Water Parks. The buses run on a regular basis throughout the day (unlike the offsite hotels).

I've never stayed there, but have always heard good things about this property.

The rate is being offered through mousesavers.com, I believe. I know Mary has a special rate listed for Easter week but I didn't check the price so look there.

We stayed the week after new years and we found the hotel very clean and the rooms very large. We only had to wait once for a bus, about ten minutes, but we only went to MK from the Hotel so I cannot comment on the transportation to the other parks. I didn't like the breakfast buffet but my dw did. The dinner menu was more to my taste. I think you will enjoy your stay at the RP.

I booked 4 nights @ Royal Plaza for June 9 thru June12 for $79.00 a night on Mousesavers.com last week. I think that was a good deal for that time of the year.

I first stayed there in 1998 for the 4th of July. Our room opened to the pool. The room was huge with a king sized bed. More than enough room for just two people.

When we eloped at Disney in 2000, we stayed at the Royal Plaza in their executive suite. It was very nice. Our room was accessed by the private elevator which made us feel very "important". The suite is very nicely laid out with french doors separating the bedroom. The bathroom was very nice and the jacuzzi tub just heavenly!

This past December we stayed in the suites again for one night. No private access elevator this time, but it was nice just the same. I would recommend this hotel highly.

Hope this helps!

We booked the hotel through Hotwire... thank you all for the replies... I'm very happy with the rate after hearing such great things about it...

:p
