Hotel Room for a couple of Hours?

We are spending the day at DL between flights. Arrive LAX at 9.34am, depart LAX at 10.50pm.

This will be on a Tuesday at the end of February 2008. According to info provided on another post, DL usually closes at 6.00pm at that time of year.

We are thinking of renting a hotel room for an hour or two, so that we can shower and clean up before heading back to LAX for our flight to Australia.

Does anyone know if hotels in the area offer a "day rate"?

I've left messages and the Candy Cane Inn, where we've stayed before, but heard nothing back yet.

Dl should actually remain open until 8pm. That's what the hours were this year on weekdays.

We've done this in Las Vegas. We didn't get a "day rate" but just chose an inexpensive hotel that we did not sleep in. If I were you I'd book a night at one of the motels closest to the park. Perhaps they'll give you a discount if you're not sleeping there, but either way it will be well worth it for you to have a room to relax in and get cleaned up in before your flight. Have fun!

I wouldn't sweat it---it's not as long as you think! Even with a 6 pm close.

Get in line for something big (ie Space, Nemo, Splash) right before 6 pm---you'll be done around 6:30-7 pm.

Do your souvie shopping on Main Street or DTD until 8-8:30.

Head for LAX around 8:30. International flight, right? You'll need to allow some time for a 10:50 departure time.

See - I agree with the OP on showering and such - I would HATE to sit on such a LONG flight feeling dirty!

I think just getting an inexpensive place nearby would be the way to go if you are interested in freshening up after a day at the parks and before a long flight.

Ah yeah, we are not spending the day at DL, then 3 hours at LAX, then 18 hours on a flight without cleaning up first.

We've done the flight to Australia many times before, and feeling icky on that long flight is out of the question. Back in 2000 we did the day at Disney then the long flight and we were planning to shower in the frequent flyer lounge at the airport, but they didn't have public shower facilities. (Vancouver, Honolulu, Fiji, Sydney and Melbourne do, so we thought that LAX being the bigger airport would). Anyway we felt gross the whole flight, then we arrive into our destination at 800am and can't check into the hotel until 4pm.

We plan to ride a few rides, have lunch, another couple of rides, wash up, and head back to the airport for 7.30pm-8.00pm.
