My boyfriend and I will be heading down to Disney 8/9 to 8/17. We currently have reservations at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista but upon reading some reviews posted on here, I am having second thoughts. We are looking for something for just the two of us, with either a free breakfast or an in-room fridge (both would be nice but not required), relatively close to Disney (we will have a car) and for under $60 a night. Any recommendations? :confused3 I would prefer to not prepay for the hotel. Thanks!

Hi, no prepay takes out the Priceline option, which can get a nice 3* for about 40 to 45/night...

Plan A...Many years ago spouse and I stopped at a "tickets" place on a corner called KNOW BEFORE YOU GO. Here is the web for hotels :

site:http://www.knowbeforeugo.com/orlando_area_hotels.htm

We just stopped in and said we wanted a good deal on room for the next x nights...They went to the computer and offered a hotel that was just fine for $35 dollars/night. They had several to choose from. It looks to me like if you just go to Hotels.com or Travelocity.com that the 60 dollar range does not get you much...

Plan B...takes a little moxy, but what the heck...sign up for 2 or 3 time share tour deals...You can get excellent accomodations in big roomy condos for less than 60/night (3nights usually) if you are willing to do a 90 minute
time share...you need to say NO NO NO, but can't beat the deal...Lots of folks do this but it does take some courage and fortitude...
One is on the above link to knowbeforeyou go.com

here is another:

And: http://www.floridavacationstation.c...oogle&ad=013&gclid=CIKun5y_k4wCFQstWAodrhwoBQ

plan C...some moxy, too....Just head down to Disney....I GUARANTEE there will be plenty of hotel rooms either on International Drive or West of Disney on 192 starting at Old lake Wilson Road and going about 4-5 miles west...

Just walk and ask for their best rate for 8 nights...ask to see a room and tell them your budget is about $450 total. If they can do a Priceline room for 25 to 60 they might just give you a least minute deal...remember the best offer and if a great deal does not pop up go to the old standby of Motel 6 or Super 8...good luck...Ted

Are your travel dates flexible? You are travelling so close to free dining, that it would be well worth considering delaying your vacation to the 26th and take advantage of free dining.

No. Our dates are not flexible. As a teacher, school starts right around the same time as free dining so that is not an option. It would have been if they had started it earlier in August like they have in previous years.

Check out the mousesavers.com recommended hotels.

Also check www.travelzoo.com for the best internet travel deals. Just click on Orlando. I thought I recently saw a two bedroom for like $69 a night.

Have a great trip.
