Does anyone have any hotel recommendations for the williamsburg virginia area? We are going to Myrtle for 6 days and then on the way home wanted to stop in Williamsburg Va and since it s the 4th of July weekend we wanted to make sure we have something booked pretty early. We are not looking for 5 star but not a motel either.

We stayed at the Days Inn Williamsburg. It was about 5 minutes from Walmart and Sonic. And 5 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg. It was a great little hotel with Continental Breakfast and internet. It was on a main highway with tons of shopping, food and across from a 7 eleven. Bush Gardens was about 10 minutes away. If your kids are old enough to appreciate it the Edgar Allen Poe Museum is nearby too!

I love Trip Advisor for looking for rooms and a place that will work within our needs...There are a lot of hotels in that area and many of them are located nicely to Williamsburg. Trip Advisor will give you rankings, location, avg. prices, and visitor ratings. You take the postives, the negatives and know that it is accurate somewhere in between. I find them pretty accurate!
We stayed in a Marriott Springhill Suites and it was a good location with restaurants to walk to. We used Marriott points, so I'm not sure how much it was, but I know it was modeartely priced in relation to what was available in the area. It was just ok, some positives and not so positive, but it served it's purpose and we had an awesome trip!

We've also stayed at the Springhill Suites in Williamsburg a couple of times. There is also a Hilton Garden Inn next door that looks really nice. Both of them are nice & I would stay there again.

Kingsmill Resort is lovely, but I think it might be pricey over the 4th of July.

I've stayed at Springhill Suites and the Hilton Garden Inn as well. Both are nice and right on Rt 60 in the middle of everything. You should be fine with a name brand hotel on Rt 60 (also known as Richmond Rd).

We stayed at the Williamsburg Woodlands last year, and it was great.:thumbsup2 It's one of the "official" Williamsburg hotels, adjacent to the Visitor's Center. You can either catch a bus to the historic area from the Visitor's Center, or walk along a paved path - only a 5 min walk. Free continental breakfast, Huzzah Restaurant on the premises that's open for B-L-D (we had dinner there one night and everything was good).
