Hotel recommendation for Jacksonville, FL

We are driving from NC to the World in December and we are planning to stop in Jacksonville, FL (previously we have stopped in Savannah) to break up the trip. Any recommendations for a cheap, but clean hotel that is right off of th highway that will be a quick and easy stop?

Do not stay off of Baymeadows/95 or Park/295. Not the greatest areas, lots of reports of bed bugs, drug issues, etc.

There is a Hampton Inn & Suites on St. Augustine Road of of I-95. (Not the St. Augustine exit off of I-295) Same road, just more convenient to exit off of I-95. Restaurants are ok by there. Your standard McDonald's and Chili's, also Zaxby's, Five Guys and Panera. Hope this helps.

we've stayed at a Hampton inn and marriot around the airport exit,there is a big shopping center right there with resturants,shopping and a movie theater and is less expensive than staying right in the city. We have alos stayed at Crowne Plaza in the city and that is very nice as well.
