Have the hotel rates increased lately for some reason?

Last may/june I was looking at the rates for Menage for the first week in september 2008 to get an idea of what i might be paying for this sep 2009 and it was coming up around $70 per night now I cant find it for anytime of the year for less than $130

Im planning 6 nights in Anaheim from 1st sep next year so still plenty of time to book rooms, any ideas when is usually good time to book? really early or nearer the time?

I was wanting to stay at the Menage as it looks more geared towards adults (we are a couple in our mid 20's, so prefer that) and it seems to have one of the better pools in the area which is also important to me

It's possible they've increased their rates.

Also, just so you're aware although the Menage "looks" more geared to adults but there will be LOTS of children there, we went for our honeymoon and stayed there it was super noisy, lots of families and everything echoes up and down the hallways. However since you've said you're going in September I hope for you and your partners sake that it's not too noisy.

I wouldn't stay there again, the only good point was that there is a Starbucks across the street, but I'll leave you to decide if you like it.

I hope you trip planning goes well.

Even though a hotel seems adult...around disneyland there will be kids everywhere! It is afterall a popular family destination. So please dont let that be your only deciding factor. I can't speak for the hotel itself since I have never stayed but I wouldn't be surprised if the rates have gone up. Good luck with planning your vacation! :)

I guessed they must have increased their rates, bit of an increase though imo.
Thanks for the feedback, im not thinking of looking into other hotels in the area.
I just intially liked the Menage for the 24 hour pool, rooms look nice and modern (somethng thats quite important to me, i dont like hotel rooms with the floral decor, sounds silly i know) and the price was attractive too.

Is there any hotels you would recommend that suite what im looking for? as we will be in the US for almost 3 weeks (Anaheim for 6) we are trying to keep the hotel prices as good as possible, hoping to get something for around $100pn but still a decent hotel and with a good pool

Thanks for the reply, i understand its Disney and there is always going to be kids, i just thought this hotel there might be less than other local hotels

Some people really like travel websites such as price line, travelocity, et al. I have not utilized those sites, because it is important for me to know where I will be staying before anything is booked. I have read of great prices though, so it is very tempting for me, to possibly book via one of the above sites.

Good luck in finding a great deal! I know that they exist, so I am hoping everything will work out for you. It would be great if you can find the best prices possible. Especially considering that the USD is not very strong right now, because the economy is in the tank.

When we stayed this past March I think I paid around $160 US a night, right now the rates I am seeing are around $200 so it is a bit of a jump.

Like you I thought that the 24 hour pool was going to be great however we didn't get a chance to take advantage of this at all as there were children and families in it at all hours of the day/night. Also, although the rooms look modern the actual finishes that have been used IMO are sub-par. I, like yourself figured that since the Menage is further away from Disney that it wouldn't be as busy but I was very, very wrong.

I can't really help out too much on new accomodation... I've booked my DH and I (no kids) at the Candycane Inn in a Premium room for this January, it gets good reviews on here and also on Trip Advisor (but then again so did the Menage so we'll see). HoJo also gets lots of good reviews on here as well. Being as you're staying by Disney there isn't too much that you can do about there being lots of families and children around at wherever you stay. The only other thing I might suggest is staying at one of the larger hotels around the Conference Center, it's still close enough to walk, and there will be more business travelers staying in the accomodations there.

This is a great website to look up accomodation and distances:

I hope that helps you out some.

Most of the hotels/motels around DL are pretty dated. We stayed at the Hilton suites a couple of years ago, it was nice, updated too and you get a hot breakfast buffet included in your stay.

Thanks for all your feedback, I have actually looked at some other hotels in the area now and will probably be booking our stay at the Sheraton. The rooms look very and nice, nice landscape and nice sized pool :)
Thanks again for your response to this thread :)

Not to deter you, but I don't think this hotel is within walking distance, BUT if that doesn't matter to you then I hope you have a great stay!!

No that isn't a problem as we will have a car and plus they have a free shuttle :)
