My family and I are going to Disney on February 7th through the 14th, and wanted to know if anyone could help us out with the best value out there for Hotels, or even on the Disney grounds. At this time, we are able to book the Pop Century Resorts for $55.00 per night, but the rooms are smaller, and there is no microwave or refrigerator in the rooms. I am looking for the best value close to Disney that includes 2 queen beds, microwave, refrigerator, and Disney shuttle service if possible. We want to stay as economically as we can, and would also like as much convenience as we can get as well. Let me know what your recommendations are! Thanks!!!

There is a road full of hotels near Downtown Disney....a Hilton, Wyndham, Best Western, etc. These all have transportation to Disney. You can frequently book the cheap thru priceline.com. A good site to check out is www.biddingfor travel.com. Gives you lots of hints on how/what to bid, what others have paid, how to get free re-bids, etc. If you want to stay off Disney grounds, you can save major $, but the shuttle service goes way down (like one or 2 shuttles a day vs. every 30 minutes).

Disney hotels are great, but definitely not the best price option. Still, you have to look at the advantages vs. the savings. Advantages are the Key to the World card (charge everything to it, one payment at the end), Disney transportation every 30 minutes. Disadvantages are frequently a lot of walking from bus stop to hotel room, and cost.

There is a Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista...regular price about $49 per night although I got it as a special once for $29...microwave and fridge.

I frequently do an "off property" for our last night, knowing that I'm going to sleep and get up and drive...no point in spending the extra $ for Disney if I'm not using any of the amenities.

We went through HotelKingdom.com and got a great rate at the Mainstay Suites about 10 minutes (or less) from Disney. They offer a free Continental Breakfast (which was great and they even have waffles you can make...etc). We got it for around 55 a night with all the taxes and other fees, it ended up costing us around 400.00 for the whole week (6 nights) because we added a dog fee and room safe. The bi level suite we got for that price has a full kitchenette (fridge, dishwasher, dishes and microwave with a bar to sit at and eat). It had 2 bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, a fold out couch, a full size fold down bed in the wall downstairs and a queen size bed upstairs. It sits right on a Lake and you can walk down the docks and fish or rent jet skis. It's a few blocks from a McDonalds, across from Doubletree Suites if you've ever noticed that hotel. It's very close to everything else, Walmart down the street and Old Town is up the street and lots of restaurants surrounding. You might just want to try Hotel Kingdom to see what you can get, there were a ton of cheaper hotels when we booked, but we'd stayed at this one before and felt comfortable with it, along with the fact that they allow pets and we travel with our dachshund. I'm sure you could find something more economical going through that site, so try it :).
