Hotel prices

Hello...We've stayed at the CBR the last two times we went to WDW.
In 1999 & 2001. Well we are planning another trip for Oct 2007. I was surprised to see the pricecs of CBR for the month of Oct. I believe in 2001
we paid about $129.00 per night...That with Discny Club discount.
I've seen SO many package deals lately that seem VERY reasonable.
I've always made all of my own reservations, bought tickets at the
Disney store, etc. I'm wondering if it's worth it to make my own reservations or go with a package? Just starting to plan!!

My DH is staying there next weekend for his business trip then moving over to Pop Century on the 25th for our family vacation (when our DS4 and I join him).

Disney did raise their 2007 rates a little more compared to this year. But I think there is a savings booking the resort and tickets together, I'm not sure though.

If you are interested in the Disney Dining Plan, you would have to book the resort and tickets together as a package deal in order to get it. I was told by Dis that the DDP is not done separately. It will add more money to your balance, but there is an advantage of having your meals already paid for in advance. If your not sure about the DDP, check out the Restaurant forum.

Well, what you have you come up with so far? Have you gone into disneyworld.com and put in your dates and priced out room only versus a package with tickets and/or dining? This will give you your "worst case scenario", then you can go from there. Do you have AAA? You can book a room only using your AAA discount by calling Disney directly. I'm not sure you can book a room for October 2007 with AAA yet, but those rates will become available eventually.

When in October are you going? If they offer free dining next year at the same time as this year, you could begin your vacation on September 30th and have free dining into early October.

If codes become available, it will be much later next year. Those of us who are going in January are still waiting for codes.

You could make a room only reservation and apply a code later, if they come out.

You need to do a little homework, so you have a basis for comparison.
