hotel parking question?

I've read about the 3 hour parking limit when visiting monorail hotels. We will be staying at POP in Dec and are wondering about visiting the other onsite hotels to see decorations. If we want to visit POR, WL, AK, for instance, is there a time limit? Can we just visit w/o dining ressies? I hear the Christmas decorations at WDW are well worth seeing! Thanks.

Instead of taking the car (unless not taking it is too much trouble) try using busses, monorail and boats. You can go by bus to EPCOT, go out the back exit by France and take the boat to Beach and Yacht Clubs and walk the boardwalk to Boardwalk. Then take the boat to MGM or back to EPCOT. If you go back to EPCOT, you can take the monorail to MK and switch the resort monorail and see Poly, CR and GF. Then take the boat to WL. Take a bus to DTD from there and take a boat to POR & FQ and back to DTD for a bus to the next hotel of your choice that you haven't seen (possibly AKL).

These are just examples of what DH & I have done. The getting there is half the experience and then you don't have to worry about having your car towed if you overstay your welcome in the parking lot.

Whatever you do, have fun. The Christmas decorations are all beautiful.

Any resort may impose a 3 hour parking limit, depending on anticipated crowding at or near it.

If you have a car, it is usually more convenient to use it compared with buses for resort to resort trips.

In August of 04 we visited ASMo, ASMo, Pop, CBR, and PO (FQ and R) and were never given a 3 hour pass. We had our resort parking pass from WL and told them we wanted to check out the resort. They just waived us through. They can impose a parking time limit (3 hrs) if they want, but most will waive you in. Exceptions to that would be the monorail resorts and BC/YC, I believe.
