I just booked our annual summer vacation and noticed in the email the onsite parking rate went up. This is now on the website:

Q: What are your fees for parking ?
A: Self parking fees are $17 per night and valet are $24

Just a heads up.:thumbsup2

You mean you have to pay to park at the hotel that you're already paying a lot of $$$ to stay at? Do the US partnering hotels charges for parking too?

Yep, you have to pay at the onsite hotels. I have no clue about the partner hotels.

Universal is still way cheaper than Disney for the same luxury style resorts. :thumbsup2

We always stay offsite when we go to WDW :goodvibes I had no clue you had to pay to park at US hotels...we are considering a trip there in Nov. so thanks for the info! That could really add up if you plan to stay more then a couple nights.:scared1:

When we do Disney we stay onsite at Universal and drive down to Disney. Yea, the price for parking this summer for us is just shy of $150, but it's figured into our budget.:thumbsup2

Yes it is expensive...HOWEVER...DIsney CHARGES too..They just build it into the resort prices so everyone pays for it whether you use it or not.IF you think this is bad , try parking a car in Washington DC or NYC for a vacation..$35 a night it costed us.

Some of the offsite hotels charge for parking. I know the Doubletree does.

Yeah, after I posted this I pulled out the receipts I had from my NYC trip ..$45 a night in parking is what we paid the last time staying at the Westin in times Square.

The Peabody in Orlando charges $17/night.

Many of the Downtown Disney hotels charge a hotel fee as well.

If you don't have a car, you don't pay for parking!

That's why we always use a towncar service for roundtrip transportation between the airport and the hotel. The free 30 minute grocery stop supplied by the towncar service is nice too!

Thanks for the heads up. We're traveling in May and I assumed that the price was still $15 per night.

The Best Western at DTD does not charge its guests for parking.

Unless the hotel is located in a city and has to use a parking garage or city lot, I just don't get having to pay for parking at the hotel where you, a guest, are staying. :confused3

You'll pay for it anyway; might as well have ONLY those with cars cover the cost. Unlike at WDW.

Parking lots/garages have upkeep, initial paving and line painting, signs, machines or staff to let you in and out, etc etc etc. And they had to buy or lease the land as well.

I will be at HRH in october for the first time. How and when do you pay the parking fee?
At check in?
To use a the parking they give you a key?

I have the same question as Mordyr. As I drive up to the hotel for the first time, do I need to have money ready to get into the lot before check-in? Is there a person or a computer at the gate?

Thanks.

If you are not using valet, you drive into the lot....a bar I think is at the entrance. The only way to leave the lot is by using your hotel key. Just tell them when you check in that you are parking. No cash needed :)

When you go in the lot the first time, just take a ticket that the machine will spit out at you. That will open the gate. When you check in you will be asked if you parked a car. The parking charges will be added to you hotel bill. When you leave the parking lot, just insert your room key.

you pay the bill and any charges at that time.
for those that prepay in advance, only the incidentals will be on your check out statement.

like damo stated, use your hotel key to leave the parking lot on check out day.

you are charged for parking at midnight.
the day you check out, you won't be incurring that parking charge as you are not even close to midnight.
