I am writing to ask which would be the best way to plan for start of our holiday! We are booked into the Gatwick Hilton for an overnight stay and we will be using the Virgin twilight check-in at the airport. Is the best way, to go straight to the airport and get rid of our suitcases first and then make our way to the hotel or is it best to go to the hotel first and sort out the parking?? Is it possible to just park the car in the Hilton car park overnight and then check the car into the long stay car park the morning of our flight so we can have use of the car the night before? Thanks in advance.

Last time we checked into the hotel first and then went to the twilight check-in.

When we go next year though we'll do it the other way round, I think. Twilight check-in now opens earlier so we'll probably be there too early to check in to the hotel. I tink our plan will be short stay at Gawtick to do twilight check-in and then drive round to the HIlton, check in there, dump the car a few million miles away and then back to the airport for shopping & food :goodvibes

we've always tended to do checkin first...nice to get the bags out the way!

We check-in at the hotel and sort out the car and then do twilight checkin :) Not sure if any way is better than the other?? :)

We do Twilight Check in first and then go to the hotel having got rid of all our bags :)

So it looks like everyone does something different, LOL

We checked into the hotel first and then went over to the airport to use twilight check-in. We then had a wander around the airport:)

Yes,
Its very expensive to park the car for 24 hours in the Hilton car park.
Go to the hotel, check in and drop off the car

we are staying at the manchester radisson sas inside the airport, unfortunatly our flight doesnt offer a twilight check in

cant wait to go

Thanks for the replies and so far it looks like getting rid of the suitcases first is winning! As the overnight parking at the hotel is expensive I think we will give that idea a miss. We will be so excited any way that having a look around the airport will be enough to keep us occupied in the evening. Does anyone actually sleep the night before their flight, I am losing sleep now and there are still 47 days to go??!! :jumping1:
