Hey All,

Just curious on our hotel options for a family of 5. While we can stay in a normal room, I was hoping to find at least a mini suit of some type so the kids can have their own area.

I'll be arriving late Nov/Early Dec (we're flexible and will have a car with us) and staying for 4 or 5 nights. What makes the most sense? The HOJO had no suites available during this time... are there other places to check-out in the area that don't cost an arm and a leg?

Thanks!

Check out the Hyatt OC. It is about a mile up Harbor but has a free, reliable shuttle every 30 minutes. They have a couple of great suite options that you can usually get for a pretty good price (make sure you look for the "suites on sale" promotion). They have a 2 BR Queen Suite, which has a King room, a room with 2 Queens (each with own bathroom and TV) and a living room in between with pull out sofa, desk, fridge and TV. A little less expensive is the Family Suite which has a King room + a bunk bed room but no living room in between. They also usually have a family plan discount so you can get connecting rooms with the 2nd room 1/2 off - but I think usually the suite option makes more sense financially.

The hotel is freshly remodeled, very modern and clean. Great staff and service, and full service Starbucks in the lobby. The hotel restaurant is also pretty good and you can pretty much always get free lunch and dinner for the kids. There are plenty of restaurants right in the area as well as Target across the street to stock up on bottled water and snacks. Overall great hotel!

Park Vue Inn, Residence Inn near the Anaheim Garden Walk, and Desert Palms all have suites, all with breakfasts included, and the latter two with HOT breakfast complete with protein (eggs, meat). I know there are other places, too. I have been pleasantly surprised at the number of options available for my family of five plus my sister within walking distance of the parks.
I, too, have experienced the frustration of trying to book at Hojo and finding all the suites booked.

We stayed at HOJO and didn't have a Suite. We had a rollaway bed with 2 queens. We also stayed at Fairfield Inn with 2 queens and one chair that pulls out into a a twin bed.

DLH and GCH both have daybeds but are considerably more expensive.

Our family of 6 likes the Residence Inn (Near the Gardenwalk), although it can be a bit pricier than other options. We most recently stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn and while the location was great, we did not love it and are not inclined to stay there again. For our next trip in Dec, we booked 2 rooms at the Anaheim Marriott--they have some great deals so we will give it a try.

We recently stayed in a two room suite at park vue inn. It had 2 Queens in the separate BR and a sofabed in the LR. It also had a tiny kitchenette. It was average- not fancy or super clean, but the space was nice.
