hotel on drive down in charlotte area

Hi: Anyone know of a clean, well taken care of with comfy beds hotel in the charlotte nc area near I 77 for the drive down to wdw.

It's a little further north than Charlotte, but when we do stop, we always stay at the Best Western off of Exit 82 on the 77 (Yadkin Valley). Never had a bad room and there's a free breakfast.

We like staying at the Hampton Inn in Huntersville at exit 23. There is a great restaurant on the other side of the interstate called Killingtons.

We always stay at the Drury Inn in north Charlotte (Northlake). It is a really nice hotel for the price and has a good free breakfast. It has a bunch of restaurants beside it including PF Chang's. It is right off I77.

I love the Lake Norman area that sits just north of Charlotte. Have stopped there many a time.

Drury fan here too! I have stayed in many of them and none have disappointed me. The Charlotte one mentioned is very nice.

Never been there, but DB stays there all the time and loves it! We stayed just north of Charlotte at Lake Norman at the Holiday Inn Express.
There is also a Fairfield Inn on the south side of Charlotte with a decent continental breakfast.

Thank you for the suggestions. We're driving down to FL from Montreal in July and we're also planning on stopping for the night around Charlotte. Do the Drury motels have pools? I want to exhaust my kids when we arrive so they sleep well!

Yes, they have a pool that is part indoor and part outdoor.

We stayed a couple of weeks ago at the residence inn in Huntersville, really enjoyed our stay. Never knew this nice area existed, really nice shops and restaurants, very nice stop.

So we won't go out of our way stopping here for the night? We looked at it last night and I thought we were going to be driving for a while...this would be great to know as this is where we want to stop the first night. From there to Orlando how much farther is it?

It should be around 8 hours to WDW.

If you are driving down 77, you get off at the Harris Blvd exit in north Charlotte at exit 18. Immediately you turn right and then immediately turn right again into the hotel parking lot. It is about 30 seconds off highway 77 until you get into the parking lot. It is right beside Northlake Mall at the corner of Hwy 77 and Harris Blvd. There are two Drury Inns in Charlotte. You want to stay at the Northlake Charlotte

It is about 8 hours from there to Orlando without stopping for meals.
