Hotel off property

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel that is off property, that is very close to Disney? We are going to leave for our summer Vaca early and wanted to make a 2 day stop at Disney.

I would consider the holiday inn on hotel boulevard next to downtown disney. yes it is still on wdw property but it still a great hotel and you get free bus transportation to the parks. and if you want a cheaper I have stayed also at best western lake buena vista resort.
