Hi, I'm guessing that if we have 4 people staying in a hotel but are a party of 8 (the others staying off property) I won't be able to link them to our FastPass+ when we go online 60 days out from the trip date???

Is that right? Or would I be able to link theirs to ours and they would also get 60 days out because of our hotel rez?

Thank you for helping me with these details!!

The only way to know for sure would be to try it and see what the system allows. With that said I think your friends are out of luck if they are staying offsite.

They should only get the 30 day window. You should be able to add them and then copy your FP selections to them at 30 days, though subject to availability. Almost everything is still very open at the 30 day mark, except for Anna/Elsa and 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. They can make alternate selections in those cases.

Link the other MDE account to your MDE account. Your FP booking window then becomes their FP booking window.

It's set up this way so that large groups, even with some offsite, can make plans together.

That's good to know. Last trip, I know this worked on dining reservations when I was the only one who had my hotel booked at our 180+10 window. However, everyone eventually booked onsite hotels so I didn't know how fastpass would have worked at 60/30.

What's even easier with onsite/offsite parties is to list everyone on the MDE with the onsite reservation. The booking window applies to everyone in the MDE account so everyone with a ticket benefits from the open window. That way you don't have to hassle with linking.

Wouldn't the number of people be limited to room occupancy?

No, the open window applies to the account as a whole. My window is currently a rolling 60 days and if I added a ticket to another person in my MDE, I could book FPs for that person up to 60 days out even though my onsite reservation is in three weeks.

On other Threads this scenario has been confirmed:
Onsite stay opened up 60-day window and guests arriving three days after the onsite guests and staying offsite, could still book FPs for the first three days because their MDEs were linked.

Interesting loophole, that I didn't know existed.

I can see this being exploited...Craigslist -- "Staying offsite at Disney? For $$ I will add you to my MDE so you have access to FP+ 60 days out!"

Sadly, it isn't a loophole. It's the manner in which My Magic+ and the FP system were developed. Probably why Nick Franklin and the original IT team no longer work for Disney.

Yup, I agree.

Although it's semantics -- it's a "loophole" in that those who are staying OFFSITE can use it to earn the ONSITE perq of booking FP+ 60 days in advance. It's NOT a loophole in the sense that no one is hacking into the system or anything like that to accomplish it; the system just allows it.
