Hotel nearest Magic kingdom

If you want a hotel near the Magic Kingdom are you better off to get a hotel in Kissemmee or Near Downtown Disney? Does anyone know which Non Disney hotel is the closest?

I can't recall any hotels near the Magic Kingdom. The park is far away from a lot of offsite hotels. The hotels around Downtown Disney are relatively close.

The closest onsite hotels are the Contemporary and the Polynesian.

The nearest Non-Disney Hotels would probably be the Swan or Dolphin. Beyond the hotels by Downtown Disney or off on 192 may be about as close as you could get. Even these are many miles away. The MK is about as far into Disney World as you can get.

GF and Contemporary are the closest Disney hotels. There really aren't ANY non-disney hotels near MK. There are plenty of hotels on 192 that are a short drive from the Disney gate.
