Hotel near Orlando Convention Center

I'm going to be making reservations for a conference to be held at the Orlando Convention Center. Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice (also not overly expensive) hotel within walking distance of the convention center? Is there possibly a nice Embassy Suites? I know the Peabody is near but I can't think of any other hotels. Thanks for your help!!!

I checked the embassy website and they have a location on I drive that they call the Intl. Drive/Convention Center.

There is also a Sheraton nearby as well.

I checked and the Embassy Suites is not within walking distance of the convention center. Has anyone stayed in a nice, reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of the Orlando/Orange County Convention Center? I'm looking for first hand reports. Thanks!

I have stayed at the Rosen Centre and can recommend it.

I stayed one night at the Rosen Center via Priceline before moving to Disney property. I think it is connected to the convention center. In any case we really like the place. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. Redd's Delie had great food.

How about the Rosen Plaza? It looks like it's adjacent to the convention center is it's about $30 per night cheaper than the Rosen Center. It looks like it get mixed reviews. Has anyone stayed there recently?

Can't help you. I believe it is the old Clarion Plaza that the Rosen chain took over.

The Rosen Centre is good though.

I guess it depends on how far you want to walk! There is tons of cheaper lodging everywhere around that town, but to stay within walking distance to save on parking fees ($10 per day!) at the center ~ here are your best options.

Our company has a major trade show each November, and it is at the OCCC a lot of years. I looked up housing for the show we just had there, and these are the closest ones listed. Hope it helps. While there, you should make it a point to eat at Bahama Breeze ~ very yummy!
