Hello:
DH and I are visiting SoCal for the 1st time in September. We will be visiting San Diego for the first couple of days on business then heading up the coast to DL. I am very familiar with WDW but not California.
What is a good moderate priced hotel with jacuzzi, free breakfast, free parking preferably. Oh, yes, we want to be able to walk to the park - not have to rely on the ART. Any tips will be appreciated.
Thanks,
GGB

The Candy Cane Inn http://www.candycaneinn.net/ is on the DCA side of Harbor Blvd. It offers free breakfast, free parking and a free dedicated shuttle, but is also within easy walking distance. The grounds are very well kept, the rooms are nice and clean and the staff is also very nice. I recommend this hotel highly.

Although I haven't stayed there yet, HOJOs is also a popular hotel on this board and they offer entertainment card discounts as well as DIS member discounts. They do not offer breakfast, but they are within walking distance and have a jacuzzi.

check out the tropicana and camelot. they both are right across the street from DL (tropicana is a bit closer). both offer free continental breakfasts and have a pool and hot tub/jaccuzi. i know camelot has free parking, too...i know you can park at tropicana (i think it's free, but not for sure). HTH!

desert inn has a juczey tub there right at the cross walk and if you book early tyou can get room for less then 100 a night

I'd go with the Tropicana. They have a really nice hot tub, and a good sized pool. Free parking (they were fine with us leaving our car there the day we checked out while we went back in to the park), free breakfast (not the greatest, but hey it's free and gets you going). Right across the cross walk there, location is just great.

We have stayed at the Tropicana, Park Vue, and Best Western Anaheim Inn. All three are close to the DL crosswalk with the first two being the closest of the three. We would stay at any of the three again. Although for what you are looking for, I don't think BWAI has breakfast.

Here's a link to a map of the area with the hotels listed. Hope it helps!

I'd also recommend The Candy Cane Inn as a previous poster mentioned. It's got everything you've requested and it's an easy walk.

It has some of the nicer rooms available in the area, and its own dedicated shuttle bus for times you don't feel like walking.

Okay - So it's between the Candy Cane and Ramada Maingate. Which is preferable considering proximity, free breakfast, free parking, pool, general comfort/cleanliness?

I don't know how the Ramada Maingate is, since I've never stayed there, BUT I've had enough negative experiences with Ramadas (and I'm not a real picky person) that I've sworn off of them.

Check out tripadvisor.com http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...ngate_at_Park_Anaheim-Anaheim_California.html and mouseplanet.com http://www.mouseplanet.com/cgi/reviews/do/display.cgi?product-sku=dlrramadainnmaingatesaga to see reviews for both of them, and see what you think. I think they're fairly close distance-wise, since with Ramada, you'll have to cross the street.
