Hotel Near Discovery Cove?

Hi everyone.

We're coming to WDW for my DD's birthday and are planning to stay on-site. Discovery Cove sounds amazing, so we're thinking about adding a day on to the start of our vacation, but I dont want to pay Disney prices for that first night (DC is SO expensive, we keep wondering if we can do that).

Anyway, we are flying in at night (long trip from CA) and I was hoping some of you would have a good recommendation for a nice hotel that is very close to Sea World/Discovery Cove so we wont have to drive much that first morning? The only offsite we have tried is the Hyatt at MCO, but we dont want to have to drive that far in the morning.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I have done a lot of research on hotels near Sea World and Discovery Cove. My family and I are spending Christmas '09 with our two DS and are splitting our 8 days half on Disney World property and half near Sea World and Discovery Cove. From what I have learned, Residence Inn Sea World has received great review from its guests. It's right across the street from Discovery Cove and it has free breakfast for its guests and it is rated #1 by families on the travelocity site. Very reasonable rates in comparison to Disney properties. Good luck with your search and I hope you have a wonderful vacation. I would love to hear about Discovery Cove when you return. We are hoping to do this as well during our Dec. trip. Unsure about the water temperatures and swimming during the month of December.
