How bad is the noise (freeway, pool, etc.) at the Menage, really? And are the beds as hard and uncomfortable as some of the reviews I have read? I booked the hotel yesterday and requested a room facing East, away from the freeway and pool, but I'm still a little concerned.

I'd appreciate any information or advice you could give me regarding the hotel. My wife and I will be traveling with our friends (another couple in their 20's with no kids) and we thought the hotel looked pretty cool, with a great happy hour, attractive rooms, and a nice pool area. Also, I have heard it's the last stop on the shuttle route so that should get us the park quicker, right? If you've used the shuttle, how did you like it? Did you feel like you could get to the park in time for the rope drop?

Thanks!

We stayed there a couple of years ago and LOVED IT! My husband and I were both 23 when we stayed so same age group as you and didn't have any problems. We actually were on a corner room CLOSEST to the freeway and didn't mind it at all. ( I actually prefer the white noise of the freeway to partyers and loud stomping though.) With that being said I don't even remember the freeway noise being bad at all.. Or even hearing it for that matter. :confused3

I don't remember the beds being horrible... so that is a plus. i DO remember my Dh stubbing his toe on the base of the bed. So watch out for that! The rooms are SUPER nice with nice bedding and a sweet tv.

We don't drink or party it up so I can't tell ya about the happy hour or the parties going on by the pool except for the fact that I didn't see/hear anything so I think it was pretty dead the weekend we were there.

Pool is open 24 hours and has an awesome view of the fireworks!

We actually walked from hotel menage to the parks and it took about 10 minutes.

I think Hotel Menage is a perfect hotel for people in our situation!

I posted a review from our May trip. If my wife and I were going on a trip wothout kids, I think I might stay here if I didn't splurge on a nicer property. However, with my kids I think I would have to get a great deal through Hotwire to stay here again.

Anyway, I did think it was loud but the wall AC unit drowned out a lot of the noise. The walk was 14 minutes there with my son and longer on the way back. I mentioned in my review that it was far enough to not want to do that on a 5 day trip; I would probably use the shuttle some and walk some. Thanks for the reviews! Sounds like a good fit for us : )
