I just paid the deposit on my first 7-day cruise :sunny: and I started thinking about what I needed.

What does DCL provide cruisers with in the way of hotel amenities? (I have heard cruising described as a floating hotel.)

Do they provide soaps and shampoos? (If they are provided and have Disney logos on them, I would probably keep a set as cute little souveniers.) :p
How about in-room drinking glasses?
If you order room service, do they provide extra silverware and plates? (If I order pizza for my very young kids to split, would they bring it on a plate with a knife so I can cut it into equal pieces and an extra plate so they can share?)

This board has listed hair dryers, hangers, towels and ice buckets as items provided in each stateroom.
What else is provided?

Thanks. This should reduce my what-if-they-don't-provide-this list.

Just tell room service how many will be eating and they will provide enough utensils and plates.

There are drinking glasses provided in the cabin.

Yes, the soaps and shampoos do have Mickey/Minnie on them...but I for one do not like them for use so I bring my own. The conditioner does not work well for my hair.

Pretty much anything you need. There are irons in the laundry rooms for use and none are allowed in the cabins for use.

There is a remote for the TV.

There is a clock in the stateroom but it is not illuminated so we always bring our own small travel clock (I like to know what time it is in the night if I get up).

Wooden hangars are provided and you can get more if requested but I always pack my clothes on thin, coated wire hangars so all I have to due is take them out of the suitcase and hang them right in the closet.

Laundry bags are provided if you want to send something out to be cleaned or pressed.

Pool towels are provided up on deck but they are very small....I bring my own full size one or I will buya new one on the ship.

There are some postcards and note paper in the desk.

Hairdryers are OK if you have short hair but for thick or longer hair you may want to bring your own...we always do. If you hairdryer has one of those big black plugs you will need to bring an extension cord as those plugs do not fit in the outlet due to the positioning of the outlet.

Hope this helps..
